Disable AWD Light on Instrument Panel

I have a 2009 AWD Vibe that recently had some issues with the rear differential. Long story short, we pulled the rear diff. effectively turning the AWD into a FWD. No sweat off my back, I live in a climate where the AWD is not needed. However, now the AWD warning light on the instrument panel is for...

Repair A/C Vent--- how?

Recently, I was carting some 2x4s in the ol' vibe and one of them slid forward, hit the passenger side a/c vent and pushed the two plastic flappers INTO the dashboard. I can just barely get my fingers on them. There's no way I can pull it forward back into place. How do I go about fixing the A/C ven...

Loose Sun Visor Elastic

Hey folks- this is mostly a brainstorm, unless someone has a killer solution to this problem. My 2006 Vibe has outlived the elasticity of the bands that go around the sun visors to hold stuff. The elastic is now saggy and dry-rotted to the point where it's dropping little flakes of rubber all over t...

Re: Serpentine Belt and Other Issue Help Please!

I've finally completed this repair, after some fits and starts and I have some updates as well as some questions. First of all- I purchased the Goodyear belt: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gtr-4060747" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However, when handed to my mechanic (I...

Re: Serpentine Belt and Other Issue Help Please!

Thanks to all whom have replied-- as far as lubing the fan/bearings, 1) is the generic superlube good for this and 2) do the photos show where to lube the fan? (Do such photos exist if not?)

Serpentine Belt and Other Issue Help Please!

Greetings Gen Vibers! I've been spending the better part of the morning reading the myriad posts about serpentine belt replacement and am, so far, stuck on finding the correct belt to order. As I gather, the Goodyear Gatorback brand of belts is the best bet, but I want to make sure I'm buying the ri...

Re: Recirculation button won't toggle

Thanks for the replies- I already knew about the defrost setting- that wasn't the cause. I'm still not sure what the issue was, but I ended up turning the the control to OFF, then hit the A/C button a few times which was still toggling, turned my system back to LO and sure enough, it started working...

Re: Tachometer fluttering (bassplayaz06)

:::SOLUTION:::The solution was finally found to this issue. The 2006 Vibe GT that I own had an outstanding recall for the PCM (Powertain Control Module). Not only did this recall fix some hesitation (that I didn't know existed until it was gone), it also fixed the tachometer hopping around. This nee...

Recirculation button won't toggle

I believe my 'Recirculation' button (underneath the A/C button) in my 2006 Vibe GT has gone bad. It's a single-throw (on/off) push button that doesn't click and stay depressed when it's pressed. Basically, right now, it's acting like a momentary switch where if I press it, the LED turns on, but as s...

To answer the previous question, no- nothing was done to the car immediately previous to this showing up. According to a GM tech over the phone- he thinks it's more likely a faulty instrument cluster. This an enormous expense if I go that route- is there any other fix anybody knows about? This is sti...

Tachometer fluttering

I've never quite seen this before but, my tach is fluttering. What I mean is, it pulses up and down independently of what the engine is doing. My car revs perfectly and in accordance with what I'm doing with the pedals but the tachometer is going wonky on me. At first I thought it was only doing it ...

Trailer hitch on 2006 Vibe GT

So, it's looking inevitable that me and the Vibe will have to move in the near future. I don't know if I can afford to trailer the car with a UHaul truck so I'm considering getting a hitch. My main concerns are...1) Is there a hitch out there that can fit a 2006 GT?2) Will it be hidden and not super ...

Re: How To: Disable the Seatbelt Beep - '05 - '08 only! (lovemyraffe)

I have no idea what I am doing wrong here- I've got a 2006 GT and I've tried every combination of these steps as I can think of and I have never seen "B-on" on the odo. Please help.. I've been searching for a solution to this for a long time.
