The rim is completely destroyed on the inside. The subframe is bent and all of the pop seams are popped on the side shown.

Got the call from the insurance company and they offering 6600, which I feel is fair. They wanted 1800 to buy it back, no way. I can't find a good Vibe that hasn't been mistreated in my price range. I did find a Scion TC 2005 for 5200 with a new clutch and 150k, one owner private party. I will be pi...

Re: My Baby got totaled yesterday (borquezmike)

Intially it doesn't look horrible, but she powerdrived my rear wheel 4" in snapping my axle and damaging the internal subframe severely.

I'm working on photos. As for what I will be offerred, I got 5500 from edmunds, 6100 KBB, and 6600 NADA. Edmunds is likely the closest, but I'm going to ask for more because of my Scion rims and the new tires I had just put on.

My Baby got totaled yesterday

Cruising down the 5 freeway with torrents of rain falling I glance in my left rear view mirror just in time to see another car sliding out of control at me. There's no time to move, just the unpleasant sound of metal crunching as I spin 180 degrees. I'm now pointed at the center divider hurling out ...

Re: (06pvibe)

In California you are required on 2002+ newer vehicles to have OEM conveters installed, no universal units are allowed. Now this may not be a issue if the smog guy doesn't look, but due to its design and location I would not suggest using an aftermaket converter. You should replace your O2 @ 100k, e...

Re: Catalytic Converter Lifespan and Diagnosis (Mojo72)

Got the rotten egg smell at 101,000. I went ahead and replaced the whole downpipe assembly myslef for 500.00, including oxygenh sensors. Funny though Pontiac wanted 500.00 and Toyota wanted 1000.00, go figure. Stick with good gas this problem is less likely to come up.

Re: Grind going into 2nd (paulg)

I have a 03 GT (180,000) as well and experence the same issue. The more I read the more that I fond that this is known issue with this transmission. To begin with the transmission is noted by mulitple new car reviews to be clunky and not an easy shifter. Given that, a beginner or novice will find th...

Re: 07 manual tran, 1.8L, Herky Jerky in 2nd gear (star_deceiver)

Are the revs bouncing when your holding the accelerator at an even pace. My thoughts are your clutch is slipping given your mileage, the oem clutch sucks. If you feel backfiring or the some kind of uneveness in the revs the engine it maybe the issue, but you would likely get a code. The other issue ...

Sometimes if you lave the gas cap loose you will get a light. The system can detect that the leak through the gas cap. If everything seems pretty normal, thats probably the problem

Sorry guys, I meant to add I've been on this forum for years under mike7311, but I cheanged my email and lost my password. I'll look into using the lucas. I have not checked the bushings on the actual shifter, how do you access them, where do you get replacments? I found the transmission bushings ea...

'03 Vibe GT 6-speed hard shift into first, makes noise in the shifter on all other gears

I bought my Vibe with 100,000 miles on it a few years ago. The dealership had replaced the clutch before I bought it Since I've had it, I've run her up to 180,000 with only a new catalytic convertor and oxygen sensors needing replacing. A note to all GT drivers, premium means Premium. I couldn't be ...
