Why Kenwood? Well, I had Kenwood years ago in my truck and loved it. Worked well and sounded good. Now that I'm outfitting my vibe, they are decently priced and I guess I have some blind brand loyalty. I'll check out the cadence amps. Thank.

New HU, New components... should I replace the amp??

Hello all. As the subject says... I got a new HU and I'm about to buy new Kenwood components. Is it worth it to replace the M&T amp? I'm not looking to go crazy, just a small kenwood amp (150 bucks). Anyone who has done this, let me know if it was worth the upgrade. Thanks!

HU Install - left over harness?

Hello all:My wife got me an early Christmas gift of a new Kenwood HU from Crutchfield, so it came with all the needed brackets and harnesses. My question is this, when I unplugged the factory radio, I took out 2 harnesses and the kit only replaced one of them. With the old harness just hanging out, ...

Re: What's the "thing" by my auto shifter? (keithvibe)

Thank you! That's been bugging me for a week now. BTW, I like your sig. Had a Brit growing up and my wife and I just got our first dog, a rescue from down south, last year.

What's the "thing" by my auto shifter?

I'll update with pictures if needed, but to upper right of my auto shifter there is a "thing" that I'm wondering about. It appears as though a cover of some sort has been knocked off it. Now it's a quarter inch "button" that I can depress about a half inch or so.Can anyone help m...

Abnormal - removing wing/spoiler!

Hello all.I just purchased a new-to-me Vibe. 04 with M&T and only 29k miles. I love it. Love. It. However, I'm getting past the point in my life where I want to emulate the Fast and the Furious (if I ever did). The Vibe has a wing at the back of the roof AND a mid gate spoiler. That's one too ma...

New to me: 2004 Vibe, Salsa, M&T - only 29k miles!

I've posted down in the Audio forum. This is my new 04 vibe. It had a blown speaker, so I just replaced with a set of old junk coaxials I had laying around. Still, the sound is way better than the paper cones. Great forum.

Here's an update:I replaced my blown speaker and it's mate with 6.5 inch coaxial speakers that I had laying around. So far I'm happy. Because of this forum, and your help, I knew to take out the existing speaker and use it as a bracket. I had to cut away the plastic basket that held the magnet assem...

Thanks for the reply. I went back a few pages and looked at the wonderful post that detailed a speaker install with lots of pics and saw the trick of using the old speaker as a bracket. Very inventive. I love it. My choice of component speakers is largely driven by budget. I was going to get the Pol...

Front door speaker replacement - is the bracket needed?

Hello:I posted a day or two ago asking about upgrades to the audio in my 04 moon and tunes Vibe. Well, it seems I need to accelerate this process a bit. I have a blown speaker in the drivers door. I need to replace it on the cheap while I wait on getting component speakers (just bought the car, don'...

So, pretty much I would disconnect the existing amp, cut the connectors off, then match colors of wires to terminals on the new amp and I'm done? That sounds pretty slick. Maybe it's time to look for some used amps on Craigslist. I think that's a quick way to improve the sound of the Vibe. Here's ano...

Relacing 200w stock amp in my '04?

Hello all.I am now the proud new owner of an 04 Vibe (29k miles!). The first thing I usually start thinking about after getting a new car is replacing the speakers and head unit. Amps are normally out, but in this case my understanding is that my unit (premium audio option) already has a 200w amp be...
