Re: Slow Start/ Hot Soak Problem on 2004 Vibe (frankiemenz)

frankie- wow, I can't believe you found this post almost 6 months later. Thanks for your info and ideas though. Fortunately for me, this problem disappeared about two weeks after I posted this. Who knows maybe there was trash in the check valve. I'm going to put this info in the vault though in case...

Re: (HighMileVibe)

HighMileVibe- I was interested in the outcome of your use of the RCA outputs with the attenuation circuit. My preamps are actually at 5V. Should I stay with the 6dB values or possibly go to 10dB.

Slow Start/ Hot Soak Problem on 2004 Vibe

Hello All,My Vibe- (2004 base model) has been running great with no problems. Recently though, it has started what appears to be a hot soak issue. When the vehicle is cold and has sat for a while it starts up fairly quickly, but if the vehicle is still warm and only been off for a short while it tak...

Re: (fss106)

What a coincidence! I just emailed you a visual to do the repair. I can't believe the repair shop couldn't come up with a four inch puller. Oh well, sounds like an honest group of guys anyway. Glad you got it fixed.Once I had all parts in hand it took me about 4 hours total. I will say though that i...

Re: (eyedoc)

I too wanted to thank you for the info. I bought a used compressor off of ebay that had the clutch intact. I got mine for $35, but most are in the neighborhood of $75. I then was able to go through the steps on the workbench to more easily see how each component would be removed. I got the replaceme...

Re: (flowdam)

Ok, from what I can gather, the Vibe has a GM DA6 clutch. I found multiple tools for this but the best deal, by far, was from bubbastools(I know, don't laugh as long as it gets here) on Ebay. The tool I got was by KD Tools part #3340 for $12 + $4.90 S&H. After some emails and info from fss106, i...

I've done a little more research. It appears that all things are not equal on the Vibe and Matrix. It looks like they put the Denso compressors on the Matrix and the Delphi on the Vibe. Probably the same functionally, but do not look to be exact replacements for one another. It also appears that Toy...

I need help too!

Interesting to find this thread, and still fairly current. I too have diagnosed the problem down to the AC Clutch Coil. Basically what I did is remove the connector from the Compressor and checked for voltage with a meter. When the AC button was not on, the connector showed 0 Volts. When the AC Butt...

Thanks for the welcome and responses. I am going to try painting them first, and if that doesn't satisfy I'll probably rip it out.

Hello... be gentle, I'm a Vibergin.

Hello one and all. I just bought my first Vibe, and fell into this forum looking for technical advice. I've been well impressed with this forum, the mods, and vast amount of Vibe info that exists here. I'm about to undertake a pw, pd, cruise upgrade on this vehicle, and have found lots of great how-...
