09 GT Driver's seat frame replaced second time!

Okay gents-I tip the scales around 250 but I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem. The dealership where I bought it got it done (driver's seat frame replacement) at 38K becuase I made enough noise about the fact that something just didn't feel right in my seat. It felt like the seat wa...

2009 Vibe GT Auto Tranny drain & refill

Gents,I have about 33K on the odo and was wanting to do a trans service. I won't deal with the GM dealer on this. I asked a Toyota dealer service department about simply draining whatever fluid I can get out and refilling it. He said refilling the trans is NOT straightforward, which makes no sense. ...

They cleaned injectors for the second time and I refueled at half a tank and the issue did not recreate itself. I'm optimistic it was an improper injector cleaning the first time but I will do a second test at refueling, this time after an extended driving period like it was coming back from FL. I'm...

Re: 09 GT Auto "sputtering" at start up (VforVIBE)

UPDATE 6/1: Got the vehicle back from 1st visit to dealer few weeks back and of course nothing found-said possible bad gas. Took it down to FL and it happened five(5) more times in the course of 2500 miles. I think I've pinpointed it somewhat-it seems to occur almost without fail upon fueling. I can...

09 GT Auto "sputtering" at start up

Gents,Just flipped 30K on the odo. I've been noticing that at start up she'll catch, nearly die than go to idle speed. Last night, after driving 50 miles and sitting in the driveway for about an hour, she started, died and would not restart for about 5 mins. Called the dealer this am and will bring ...

There's a drain plug-you mean I don't have to break the pan? That's fantastic-I can do that myself easily. I do know about the WS fluid.

09/10 2.4 auto tranny oil change

Has anyone done or had it done? GM said not to worry about it until 50-60K miles. I don't necessarily buy it and a Toyota dealership says 30-40 should have the total fluid exchange. With the WS fluid, it's $229 there. The GM dealership where I bought it is talking a drop and drain method. What do yo...

According to Pat Goss of Motorweek, manufacturers won't conisder anything less than a quart per 800 miles as NOT excessive consumption.

I done 2 and found out the hard way that it takes no more than 3.5 qts. On the highway at 75 mph I get 29-29.5, 33-35 at 65 mph. I don't see any problem with those numbers. If you want to regularly kick it in the a$$, of course it's going to go down or a lot of city driving, even if done so judiciously.

Thanks Sublimewind,I has suspected as much. You are talking to an old Detroit Iron guy, I traded an 05 LeSabre in on the Vibe. I think I'm going to pony up for the 98 Jimmy. It will be about $3500 to buy & stick new tires on it, but I can use it for a bit more than snow duty and I'll let the vib...

Allright guys thanks for the tire info, but what do you think about the 9" front facia clearance issue. I've been looking at other cars, and it seems they are not much higher, but the lowest point of the vehicle is under the core support.

Re: Exposed brakes on 09 GTs (bdozer65)

So if we went the snow tire route, what rim/tire size would you need to get so that the computer/speed etc is calibrated correctly? I think the boots on the GTs are like 215/45 18"s.

Re: Exposed brakes on 09 GTs (Sublimewind)

I didn't think much about the exposed brakes, but what about how low that front facia is? I'm a little paranoid that I'll be pushing snow. I measured the distance from the underside of the facia to the ground, it is 9". Maybe that is effectively no lower than say on a chevy impala. But it sure ...

I noticed this on mine too. I'm not sure I agree all cars do it-at least to this level. I had a GM 3100 for 7 years/125K and a 3800 for 2 years 25K and they didn't jump up like quite this high. It also seems like it will do it after 10 minutes as opposed to overnight. I just have gotten a little mor...
