Gents,Just flipped 30K on the odo. I've been noticing that at start up she'll catch, nearly die than go to idle speed. Last night, after driving 50 miles and sitting in the driveway for about an hour, she started, died and would not restart for about 5 mins. Called the dealer this am and will bring it in next week, but just wondering if anyone else has had this. FYI, when brought in for the gas pedal recall, the dealership recommended injector cleaning stating these vehicles don't even have an external fuel filter you can change and this was preventative maintenance. It seemed to run okay after that but that was only about 1,500 miles ago. Also, I've mainly only run Shell or Bp fuel. Anyone else had this issue.
Mine died on me once. I also have a 09 GT. I was leaving the gym and it had been setting outside for about an hour. It took a couple of seconds of cranking to get it started.. then it started jerking like crazy before I could get out of the parking lot. Though this has only happened once, and sometimes when I start up seems like it'll do what yours is doing.. and mine has 50K on the odo.
Mine hasn't hit 20k yet, and I've had no issues like this, but I would suggest SeaFoaming your car, it really cleans the insides, helps it run smoother.

UPDATE 6/1: Got the vehicle back from 1st visit to dealer few weeks back and of course nothing found-said possible bad gas. Took it down to FL and it happened five(5) more times in the course of 2500 miles. I think I've pinpointed it somewhat-it seems to occur almost without fail upon fueling. I can drive 200 miles, shut it off, starts okay. Test 2, drive 200 miles, shut down, open fuel cap and replace, restarts fine. Test 3., tests 1 and 2 plus add refueling-HARD START! I actually have to pump the pedal when it starts to catch and hold it for a few seconds and rev a bit, then it runs fine! It's at the dealer again and I'm not takin any prisoners on this-they better start guessing and replacing with 33K on the odo.

They (dealership) are now saying they want change the main computer because they had another (year) vibe with the same unexplained "extended cranking" condition. I have to bring it back again and will keep you all posted.
I am not sure this is the cause, but DO NOT overfill gas tank. DON'T " fill to the brim." This can cause $$$ problems with new cars. Also, sounds like there may be water in the fuel. Add a can of Seafoam && " HEET " to remove & clean.
They cleaned injectors for the second time and I refueled at half a tank and the issue did not recreate itself. I'm optimistic it was an improper injector cleaning the first time but I will do a second test at refueling, this time after an extended driving period like it was coming back from FL. I'm not real anxious for them to change the whole computer if it's unecessary.
I am going to go ahead and let them change out the computer. I stopped in on my local Toyota dealer and the service department there did say there were/are some TSBs regarding this issue.
