2009 Vibe GT Auto Tranny drain & refill

Post by bdozer65 »

Gents,I have about 33K on the odo and was wanting to do a trans service. I won't deal with the GM dealer on this. I asked a Toyota dealer service department about simply draining whatever fluid I can get out and refilling it. He said refilling the trans is NOT straightforward, which makes no sense. It DOES have a check/fill stick. I got a trans fluid pan and fliter assembly removal exploded diagram from the GM dealer but it falls flat after you get the pan and filter off, no mention of the refill procedure. Has anyone done this, either removed the pan and filter or simply drained the fluid and refilled the fluid(as I wish to do). I DO know it takes type WS fluid.

i didn't think that the GT had an auto tranny.Anyway.. I do have an auto tranny and i did a drain and fill without dropping the pan. I drained then filled through the dipstick tube. using a skinny tip funnel. If i remember it took just shy of 3 qts. Poor slowly and check often. Be carefull on draining, the fluid will run down your tool and your arm.
