Re: Crankshaft pulley removal (98se5speed)

Yeah I wish I had an impact gun. Most cars there wouldn't be enough room to use one but this one there is. Hopefully I never have to take the pulley off to get to the timing chain, and in that way, a $100 mechanic visit is better than a $100 tool. Hopefully this thread at least helps someone in the ...

Re: Crankshaft pulley removal (bluneon)

Thanks. It's not actually getting the pulley off that had me, but getting that bolt off without the holder tool that keeps the pulley from spinning as you try to loosen the bolt. I tried making my own holder out of wood and 7mm bolts and it broke the wood and bent the bolts. I ended up just taking i...

Crankshaft pulley removal / Oil Leak at 125k miles

Hi all,I have an oil leak on my 03 due to a bad oil seal behind the crank pulley. Does anyone know how to remove this pulley without the SST? I looked around and I don't want to do the starter bump method b/c I wouldn't be able to properly torque it back on. Also, just to doublecheck, does this bolt...

Re: all the pros out there.....question for ya!!!! (KSNeptune)

yes it does, I have them. I had to make custom brackets for them however, the speaker will not screw into the panels without them.

Re: Recommend speakers please!! (cohocarl)

Stick with the MB Quarts!!! Polk and Infinity do not even come close. Look on ebay for the best prices. I got the Q series 218.61's which retail for $900 for only $280, best speakers I have ever owned. You can also get Infinities on ebay much cheaper if you like the sound of them better than anythin...

Re: Trying to put Sony reciever in Vibe!!!!!Help!!! (Idsane)

Also since your sony is putting out a little more power than the stock headunit, it may be too much for the high level inputs on the stock amp. If you are hearing a lot of distortion, this is prob why. Most aftermarket amps that have high level inputs would be able to handle this (since your sony is...

Re: Trying to put Sony reciever in Vibe!!!!!Help!!! (carterwood)

It looks like you didnt use the remote power turn on lead from the original head unit. I believe it is a white wire that is hooked up to the original head by a different harness. The adapter harness does not account for this wire. You need to splice into your remote turn on wire coming out of your n...

Re: hooking up an extra amp... (BigWill)

Do you mean you want to piggyback the wires from the first amp to the second? Power, Ground, and remote... from first to second? If this is what you mean then the answer is no. The other amp must have its own power supply (with proper fuse) run straight from the battery, or you can take the existing...

Re: Stock Speakers (baltimore17)

Im not sure about the Kenwood amp you have, but the potentiometer gains on most amps are usually only for RCA inputs and not high level inputs. This is because the RCA range is typically from 250mV to 4V, whereas high level inputs are typically b/w 3 and 13V. A line out converter is pretty much the ...

Re: Stock Speakers (shadow)

Try either bridging your amp to give those infinities the power they need or getting a line output converter to turn the high level output from the stock headunit to an RCA signal that the amp will accept. Will sound better either or both ways.

Re: Dealer decal (vibesalsa)

When I got my Vibe, I asked the dealer to remove the dealer decal, and they did so with a screwdriver. Needless to say it put many chips in the paint on the rear end were it was. Now they have to repaint it, and I didnt even get to drive off the lot before getting my frist sratch. If you ask the dea...

Re: Cutting holes in doors for speakers (justin4192)

I was thinking of putting those same rears in, and Polk Dx 3065's in the front. Would be interested to see if those rears fit!
