Re: Anyone have a Thule roof rack and/or cargo box? (maxt)

I have a Yakima rack and I have a Karrite roof top carrier which is actually made by Thule but is way cheaper than a Thule branded box. It is 20 cubic feet and holds a TON of stuff. The Vibes' roof weight limit is 75 pounds so it's pretty easy to max it out. I'll take a picture and post it soon.

Re: Catalytic Converter replacement (joatmon)

Joatmon,Is your catalytic converter still running fine and has the CEL stayed off? I was going to replace the cat myself using your great pictures as a guide but after talking with a mechanic he thought that might be a bad idea. His rationale was that "CAT's just don't break, something causes t...

Re: Just broke through 100k miles (furrydogs1)

I just found a Catalytic Converter at this website:http://www2.partstrain.com/par...erterfor only $368 and $5 shipping. I was looking at Joatman's thread on how to replace it and I was thinking of doing it myself. Whaddya think, should I give it a try? It doesn't say anything about a core refund eit...

Re: Just broke through 100k miles (MiVibe-ToolGuy)

Toolguy, thanks for the recommendations. I think I'll pick up some injector cleaner this weekend. Regarding the CEL light.... I've been reading on this forum that my error code is going to set me back probably $600 so I have been dragging my feet. Plus I haven't noticed any change in performance due...

Just broke through 100k miles

On the way home from work I passed the 100k mark. Here is a report on the first 100k miles:-The original Conti tires wore out after 22k miles. Replaced with some Cooper's that lasted to about 85k and now I have Yoko Avid TRZ's (best tire yet)-CEL has been on since about 80k miles. Got the code the o...

Re: Ideas for Travelling Cargo Trailer (prathman)

I currently have a hitch mount bike rack so I might just end up using the roof option for luggage. I've got to figure out the biggest box I can get on top of the Vibe. I know it only holds 75 pounds but I'm more concerned about the length and getting the hatch open.

Re: Ideas for Travelling Cargo Trailer (prathman)

We will probably do about 3000 miles during this summer trip. Most of our trips are road trips so having this trailer for the long term wouldn't be a bad idea. We go up to the mountains quite a bit on the weekend so we could also use it for that. I plan on having our two bikes on the roof so I proba...

Ideas for Travelling Cargo Trailer

Hello all. In light of $3 a gallon gas and the prospects for $4 a gallon gas I am now considering taking my '03 Vibe on this summer's family trip instead of our gas guzzling '02 V8 Dodge Dakota. The only problem is that the Vibe can't fit 2 dogs, a child in a car seat, a wife and all of our luggage....
