On the way home from work I passed the 100k mark. Here is a report on the first 100k miles:-The original Conti tires wore out after 22k miles. Replaced with some Cooper's that lasted to about 85k and now I have Yoko Avid TRZ's (best tire yet)-CEL has been on since about 80k miles. Got the code the other day and it is the one for "inefficient catalytic converter". Will probably get this fixed soon.-Changed coolant at 40k but haven't changed since then. Will probably change in next week or two.-Changed plugs a week ago, old ones were worn good but haven't noticed change in performance since putting in new plugs.-Before warranty was up I had them adjust vents b/c the a/c was running warm. I still believe a/c is mediocre and so is the heater in the winter.-Had problem with loose driver and passenger windows so I took advice from thread here and took off door panel and put loc tite on the regulator screws, etc. That solved the problem.-Have done NO work on brakes, still running strong-NO work on clutch, seems to still be running great-change oil about every 5k miles, started using Synthetic Mobil at about 80k. Haven't noticed a difference.-Have the Abyss paint, my hood is covered in touchup paint from rock chips, so is my hatchback. This is probably my biggest gripe.-No mods, but I now have a yakima roof rack and hitch rack for bikes also. -I average about 33 MPG over the life of the vehicle.Overall I am very happy with my 2003 Vibe. Paid 15,500 US with Moon and Tunes, alloy wheels, all power. I plan on getting another 100k out of this car unless I need more room when the 2nd kid comes along. I'm already carting around 2 dogs, a wife and child so things can get a little tight, but when I pick up a car top carrier next week that should help somewhat. Next month were doing a 3k mile round trip so I'm quickly on my way to 200k. Thanks for listening.

Get that fixed! All joking aside, when you do the coolant change, change out your thermostat if you have not done so already. On an engine with that many miles, if the T-stat fails and the car gets too hot, it just may blow a head gasket and then you will have more of a repair. Remember, the engine likes its normal operating range and not more. Also, change out your PCV if you have not. I would also run a bottle or 2, not at the same time of course, of Chevron Techron Fuel system cleaner in it for your fuel injectors. Have to keep them clean too!
Toolguy, thanks for the recommendations. I think I'll pick up some injector cleaner this weekend. Regarding the CEL light.... I've been reading on this forum that my error code is going to set me back probably $600 so I have been dragging my feet. Plus I haven't noticed any change in performance due to the supposedly broken catalytic converter. I hate to replace the converter and find out that it wasn't the problem. My other dilemma is that I don't know where to take it: The dealer and get charged an arm and a leg 2)local garage and possibly have somebody work on it that doesn't know a lot about Toyota/GM vehicle 3)a strictly exhaust shop that might cost less if they specialize in exhaust systems only. Any advice would be appreciated.
Awesome! I hope to be able to have as few problems as you have had when I reach 100k.As far as the Cat, I would go to an exhaust shop. you'll get the best priceand the job will be done correctly. Good Luck!

I just found a Catalytic Converter at this website:http://www2.partstrain.com/par...erterfor only $368 and $5 shipping. I was looking at Joatman's thread on how to replace it and I was thinking of doing it myself. Whaddya think, should I give it a try? It doesn't say anything about a core refund either.
