I did use the k&N instructions. but nothing. there is a large rubber hose that came from the original tube to the upper manifold. So the GT, and Base models have different Throttle bodies? Also, I have read on here that some have to "modify" the intake kit, or a hose leading to the engine.

I would go Intake First. The stock air box is so restricting. Let the engine breath. But you will notice more gains if you do both at the same time.
