THANKS ALL!I called and asked the dealership this question and they told me it had to be married to the car. I figured they were lying to me (trying to get me to buy a brand new one)....two in his head and one in his heart.

Stock Stereo Replacement

My stock stereo (6 cd changer) burned out in my '03 Vibe. If I buy a replacement from a junkyard, can I simply install it and expect it to work, or does it somehow have to be married to the car itself? Does some sort of programming have to take place?Thanks.

2003 vs 2004+ stereo

I have a 2003 Vibe GT with moon and tunes package and I really want to add a sub w/amp. However, I don't want to tap into the wires to the rear speakers to supply signal (guy at the stereo store told me this is a terrible way to do it -preouts are the way to go), and at the same time I don't want to...
