Thanks all. Will see if the current set passes the upcoming safety inspection. Some slippage with starts in wet pavement. Tread appears fine.

Re: Atoto head unit and stock amp

I got rid of the hiss by using the fader to move the audio more up front. Must be too much amperage dedicated to the sub?

Just used them today to pick up my first kayak! Strange that Amazon no longer says the rails are compatible with the Vibe. Works for me.

Re: Roof rust - best cheap repair?

I’ve converted 1/3 using naval jelly and primer/touch up but can’t get all. sucks to have to deal with rust. what about the other 2/3 makes it hard to get at with naval jelly? Too bad Earl Scheib isn't around anymore a long shot, but you might luck out and find a tech school or an autobody place wi...

Roof rust - best cheap repair?

Hi all, I picked up a 2006 Vibe in moonstone gray color last summer. It had some bad rock chips in the hood which is touched up and ultimately covered up with a lebra cover. The car roof was also very flaky. The prior owner no doubt scratched up the roof with surf boards. It was a Florida car. I scr...

Thanks. I can feel all the bolts but that top one is going to be tricky. I have a mini 7/32 wrench that might work.

Re: 03 Vibe AC/Fan switch illumination

Hi does 90072-02005 fit a 2006 vibe? When I check Toyota for 2006 matrix it says it doesn’t match. The GM part says it fits but out of stock/discontinued. Thanks. My left backlight is out for the directional controls.

Thanks. This is helpful. My left knob stopped illuminating. Once I look behind, what should I do besides checking the connection? Is there a small bulb to replace? Thanks

I did the relearn for mine. https://gearshifters.org/toyota/how-to- ... le-toyota/.

I also had a bad connector to my TPS which fixed idle problem (mostly during cold starts)

Re: Hvac door actuator replacement (Flapping noise on passen

Removing the actuator is a problem because the fasteners have tiny little heads and you can't use a screwdriver. Luckily, I had a tiny open end/Box wrench that fit perfectly. DON'T ATTEMPT THIS WITH OUT A WRENCH LIKE THIS! a ratchet probably wouldn't fit in there. Here is what I used: I had the mis...

Good cheap tires?

Hi, I bought the 1.8 Vibe base last summer, and it had sumitomo tires. Those were installed in 2019 but they only have about 5000 miles. So far they seem good. Surprised no dry rot. I’m wondering though for next year what brand everyone uses. I’d rather not get into the expensive Michelin type stuff.

How to adjust light direction?

I haven’t looked yet, but are we able to adjust the direction of the headlights? A lot of drivers when I’m passing them from the other direction flash me thinking I have highbeams on. I don’t. I did replace the lights with an after market part on Amazon because there were so fogged up, I’m thinking ...

Yes check coolant level. Another first check.

Re: 2006 Vibe Base 5 speed stalls when temperatures are below 20 degrees farenheit

I forgot to mention that I also could restart or reclear my code and the car would run perfectly fine. The below freezing thing for me was a bad connection with the throttle position sensor. I would first make sure all your connections are good, inspect the one to your TPS for damage, then check/repl...

Re: 2006 Vibe Base 5 speed stalls when temperatures are below 20 degrees farenheit

I had similar issues but I had codes. P0171. Fixed that with an intake manifold gasket. For a long time, I had a P2103. The prior owner had already replaced the throttle body with an integrated TPS. I think the GT and first model has separate TPS which would have been where I’d look first. My 2006 w...

Do I have a failing window?

Hi, I picked up a 2006 Vibe last summer. All power windows function but I noticed the driver side window goes simply down whereas the passenger window starts going down straight but tilts frontward halfway down. It does manage to go fully opened or closed. No weird sounds. Is that normal or am I loo...

I agree with above. Too many owners. Mileage is possible. I recently purchased a 2006 with 159k miles. It was only driven 4-5k miles in the preceding 2-3 years. In my case it was a single owner (technically 3 within same family).

Hi all.
I noticed that my driver side window goes straight down and up. My passenger window kind of tilts sideways but still functions. Is that normal or am I looking at a repair in the near future?

Hey all, I’ve been reading the forum for years and finally joined. Picked up a 2006 back in 7/23. I really enjoy driving it. Love the space, firm seats and head room. Also, the sounds with the moon and tunes set-up. Before I purchased the Vibe, the prior owner fixed a few things. One was replacing t...
