Re: What's the round thing beside the gear shift on automatics? (BlueVibeGirl)

If your battery dies, and you can't shift into neutral to push the car to a new (or safe) spot, you use this override switch to shift into neutral. It's like pressing the brake to shift out of park.

Just like we all thought, last night I replaced the battery with a brand new one (MAXX 35DN from Wal Mart = $62, 875 CCA) and all is well. The battery that was in there was the original. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Re: Dead as a doornail (BlueCrush)

Yep, I think so too. I'm pretty sure that it's the original factory battery... so it would be about that time now. (it's an '04, so late '03 - '06).Thanks for the input.I'll swap out the battery tonight.

Dead as a doornail

Just looking for some generic advice....This morning, I went out to my '04 Vibe but when I used the keyless entry, nothing happened. So, I was expecting a battery problem. When I tried to start it up, I got dash instruments (Check Engine, Oil, and Battery lights), and a buzzing sound (which I assume...

Re: Thule Sidekick (ZubenElGenubi)

Thanks for the great recommendation. Although the Yakima Spacecadet is about twice the cost of the Thule Sidekick - the compatibility and, well, look of the Spacecadet (plus it's twice the size and only 3lbs heavier), seem to make it worth the extra $150 or so. Thanks again.(more suggestions welcome...

Re: (Burstgoof)

Just so there's no confusion - I got a Vibe. I meant - Pontiac took the Matrix and made the perfect amount of changes to create the Vibe.

Re: (trdvibe)

So far I love this car. I've put almost 300 miles on it in two weeks. It's a very smooth ride compares to my last car. I am enjoying the interior quite a bit - although I think I'm experiencing the same dash rattle that a lot of people have posted about. It's not too bad though. My fiance loves the ...

Thule Sidekick

There are a few discussions in the forums about rooftop cargo boxes. The smallest (and I think newest) box from Thule is called the SideKick. It's 8 cubic feet. Before I go drop the $150 for it, I was wondering if anyone has it installed. Did it fit out of hte box? Also, I'm not against other option...

I just finalized the deal on an 04 Vibe. Picking it up tomorrow morning. After reading the forums here for awhile I'm pretty excited to get to know the Vibe and it seems like it'll be a great vehicle - for commuting and camping and more.
