Re: Help identifying loose connector

UPDATE: So at one point I was blowing an efi fuse, and I ended up unplugging the rear o2 sensor and plugging it back in and it fixed it. Odd. I replaced the sensor just to be sure. I also had this lean code that I couldn't get rid of. Well, inspection time came and I failed for the CEL. Many months ...

zbyers wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2019 12:31 pm It's possible it's related to that lean code, but I haven't heard of anyone having stalling issues due to it.
A good experiment if you wanna help me brainstorm would be to unplug your vacuum switching valve and see if a code comes up. Just to see if the same results happen

Re: Help identifying loose connector

The lean code, to a point, is also emissions related. The reason I was suspected the brown VSV was because it was missing. I guess I didn't realize you had a jumper wire in it, to take place of that. The 04 GT is pretty similar to the 05, actually as there is also the smog pump. The 03 GT is the bi...

UPDATE.... Looked up an the K&N cold air intake for my 2005 GT and used their included instructions on their website to see how it is installed. By the end, I realized that everything on my intake system is correct. zbyers, I think Im right in saying that you have a 2004 and if so then there are...

Re: Help identifying loose connector

Scratch that, I toughed it out and looked. So the vacuum line that you have capped off on the throttle body is currently running from that nipple on the throttle body to this part right under it. In the picture the vacuum line is the braided one. 20191112_183855.jpg I supplied this next picture to j...

Re: Help identifying loose connector

There is no changes to this vacuum set up from the stock air box, to installing the aftermarket cold air intake. There was a vacuum line that was on the backside/bottom of the stock airbox; that should now go onto the nipple sticking off the cold air intake. The wiring for the brown solenoid is bun...

intake manifold gasket for 2ZZ

Reading on here, everyone changes their intake manifold gasket for the orange toyota one. Can anyone confirm that this works for both engines? I ordered it, and then realized that I may need a different one since I have the 2ZZ engine.

Help identifying loose connector

Recently purchased a 2005 vibe GT with a lean code, P0171. Only modification to it seems to be a cold air intake. I have a loose connector that I cannot find what it connects to. It had a pin in both terminals, so the previous owner was trying to jump the connection. Any help? If anyone has a stock ...

That connector is potentially the source of your P0171 code. I know it is part of the VSV contraptions located closer to the master cylinder. I will post a pic of my setup when I get home, to show you how the wires are plugged, and the vacuum hoses are routed for the intake. Any luck on pictures of...

Re: Misfires and o2 sensor problem

Do you have a bluetooth code reader? If so, you can hook it up and pull the o2 sensor data. if it has a nice "wave" on the graph, the sensors are doing their job. Only the first sensor is really critical. P0031 for the o2 sensor basically says it has low/no voltage. I will ask the obvious...

Misfires and o2 sensor problem

Hello all, I need some advice on where to start. I have a 2005 pontiac vibe gt that I bought with a p0171 lean code on it. Was hunting for the culprit but never found anything. Re: Vacuum hose help

I would concentrate on the modified air intake. Where's the MAF sensor? My approach would be to find a stock air intake box with MAF and try to get things back to normal. (By the way, that socket extension banging against the positive battery terminal cover would bother me.) The MAF is under the in...

Re: Vacuum hose help

I just looked at mine and that's not even a hose fitting. It's for support. If you had the original air intake, that barb would fit into a rubber bushing on the air intake box. Re: 2004 Vibe GT possible electrical problem

I'd say so. You need at least 13.5 to charge a 12 volt battery properly, and I believe that around 14 volts is normal for a running system. You'll need to get above idle for a bit to make certain, however. Have someone rev the engine to 1200 RPM briefly for a volt check, if you can. Reving it up to...

Re: 2004 Vibe GT possible electrical problem

If you're running without a MAF, I can see how that could lead to a running lean code. I'm surprised it works without one. I'd fix that first. Running lean can damage the engine. And you're relying on the O2 sensors only to manage fuel mixture. A code will reset if the fault doesn't appear during a...
