Re: Broken Plastic Clips (mtlea)

try using Dept. 56 "tacky wax". It comes in a tiny jar like soldering paste. Dig out a chunk and mold i t with your hands to the desired shape and push on....worked great on a broken tab on the door console.

Re: Location of transmission number /if it exists (joatmon)

Thanks guys.....I couldn't find any of those trans numbers. They're probably hiding under the battery ..... Anyway, got a kit with filter and gasket from Autozone Duralast TF177 for $16. Like you said, your trans is a A246E type if you have a 2004 Vibe, front wheel drive, automatic, transmission

Location of transmission number /if it exists

Wanting to drop the transmission pan to clean the filter and change some of the fluid on my 04 auto 2 wheel vibe and replace the gasket ,the Advanced Auto person said," there are three gaskets available depending on the number on your transmission". I couldn't find any numbers that he was ...

Re: (joatmon)

Thanks.. I called the dealer who said he sends all his used Vibes, with bad radios, to a certain Radio repair shop . The repair shop said if I brought the radio into them, they would fix it for $90.00. After looking at the great forum radio dismantling pictures, and talking to the radio man, I took ...

Re: Section of radio light went dim (bocody)

Left section of radio light went dim 2004 Vibe- 100,000 miles It really seems ashame to have to replace a good functioning radio when just the left side light go out on it. I'll try banging on the face plate and see what happens. Just wanted to write to add my name on the list of crappy vibe radios.

Re: (kostby)

In answer to "things to think about"The old tires that had only 10,000 miles showing no abnormal wear were rebalanced twice because of vibration in the steering. New tires were purchased and those tires balanced and rebalanced. Then these same tires were taken to a local tire dealer and ba...

Re: Steering wheel shake at 60mph (Kamikaze)

Kamikaze...... I'm having the same steering wheel shake. It's still there after balancing and rebalancing tires at another shop . Even got new tires. How many miles on your Vibe ? I've got 96,000 but a quick check on the wheel bearings and tie rods found no play. Did you fix your shake and what was ...

Re: vibration in steering wheel at 70 MPR (dragon64)

To all , Thanks for all the help. I took my OE wheels (original equipment) ,stock and new tires to a locally owned tire shop. I watched as they took the new front tires off and rebalanced them. The kid said the first wheel he balanced was off 1/2 an ounce .The manager came out and said he would put ...

Re: vibration in steering wheel at 70 MPR (LMK9232)

Brake Drum Removal

I have a 2004 standard vibe with 85,000 miles. There are two shallow threaded bolt holes on my rear brake drums that are 180 degrees apart. They provide a way to push the drum out by inserting two bolts in them . Does anyone know the size of bolt to use? metric ? looks like course thread? It's not r...

I would like to know the size and type of the two screws which hold the IACV on to the throttle . The IACV is a black plastic sensor at the bottom of the trottle body. It looks like two aluminum screws. I was trying to remove and clean it to help the car's vibration, rough idling. I tried a torq bit ...

Location of loud key buzzer

Does anyone know the location of the loud, intermittent buzzer that sounds off when you leave your keys in the ignition? Some cars you need only pull the key half way out but on my Vibe the key must be removed completely for the noise to end. I don't want to remove the buzzer as I realize it is a sa...
