Broken Plastic Clips

Post by mtlea »

I have been having an issue lately with various plastic clips snapping in my vibe. Currently one of the clips holding down the driver door console as well as one of the clips on the cabin air filter door are snapped off. I've tried plain old super glue on the door console. That worked for a good two weeks before the clip snapped again (just from the jarring of the door being closed). Has anyone here successfully fixed clips like this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good adhesive for these flimsy pieces? Thanks in advance.

Driver Door controls have broken 2 times here. Whole assembly is like $360 dollars, but the trim piece is somewhere around $60.00. I have not had anytime get to take it apart and try to epoxy it something. As for the clips for the HVAC Filter (one in the glovebox); the reason why thy prob broke is because in the owners manual there is a typo and your actually suppose to go in the opposite direction... I say duct tape/electrical tape that one.

try using Dept. 56 "tacky wax". It comes in a tiny jar like soldering paste. Dig out a chunk and mold i t with your hands to the desired shape and push on....worked great on a broken tab on the door console.
