09 GT Sound System Wiring Scematic

I haven't been here in a good while. Just paid off my '09 Vibe GT, and it now has almost 160,000 miles. I bought it with about 30,000 miles four years ago. Still going strong! I going to keep it for a few more years (hopefully), so I wanted to upgrade the Monsoon sound system without tearing the who...

Top/Front Motor MountReplacement. Any Tricks?

Due the vibration I'm getting while in idle in gear or with the A/C on I'm going to try replacing the top/front (Pass side) motor mount to see if that helps. I seem to remember a Corolla I once had having the same problem. Is there anything out of the ordinary or tricks I need to know before I tackl...

Re: '09 GT Rough Idle

Thanks Dairgo! My Vibe used to idle just fine. It seemed to start vibrating right after I replaced a dead battery. I didn't think that anything to do with it until somebody told me about the codes needing reset. But, that didn't really help either. The front motor mount looks to be bad so I'm going ...

Re: '09 GT Rough Idle

Thanks gtv, tried that but it didn't work. Had mechanic reset the codes, that didn't work either. The idle is not rough so much as the vibration. It's really bad especially while in gear with the A/C on. Otherwise, my vibe runs great. I was hoping to avoid taking it to the GM dealer, my last resort....

'09 GT Rough Idle

My '09 GT (2.4L) started idling rough just after I change the battery. Very bad at first, then it got better, but still idles like there is a vacuum leak somewhere. At first I thought it couldn't be the battery, I mean one has nothing to do with the other, right? Also, when I had the oil changed, th...

Re: Ride with 18 inch wheels

I have the 245/45/18 OEM size tires on my GT. I hat them. They are noisy, ride rough, and don't last very long unless I rotate the every oil change. I was thinking wider and taller, or at least taller, to get more side wall height. Maybe a 225/50/18, just one size taller and wider, and all season to...

2009 GT 18" Alloy Center Cap Part #

Does anyone know the OEM part number for the center cap for the 209" Vibe GT 18" alloy wheels. One of mine disappeared the other day. E-bay has several, but some are for the Torrent, Solstice, G6, G8, and others. Are they all the same?

Any Aftermarket Parts To Smooth the Ride?

My wife constantly complains about how rough the ride is with my '09 GT compared to her Mazda 3 HB. I've got to admit, she's right. But there are too many things I like about my Vibe compared to her Mazda. I know those 18" wheels with the low profile tires contribute greatly to that, and I am t...

Re: Oil Changes, Pure Synthetic? Really?

Thanks for the advice. I have heard that the 2.4 burns oil, but I checked it the other day and it was still full from 3 months and 4500 miles ago. I guess I got lucky and got a good one. I'll probably stick to the synthetic blends. I use that in my boat's twin engines that run at 4000 + RPM's all th...

Oil Changes, Pure Synthetic? Really?

I was hoping to hear back from some of you long time Vibe owners with high miles on your car. The last time I went to have my oil changed, the guy at Jiffy Lube said my '09 GT requires pure synthetic oil. I don't mean to sound cheap, but that stuff is pretty expensive. Is that necessary? I've had Co...

18" GT Wheels Look Great, But....

The 18" alloys on my '09vGT look great, corner even better, but man they ride rough! I can feel a piece of gravel when I run over it. Every little bump in the road. Even more, as some of the responses to my other thread, it is contributing to some of the steering pull. These are the first set o...

XRVibe10,
Thanks again! I filed a claim with my extended warranty company, just in case, and will look for a service dept somewhere that is not only willing to, but knowledgeable enough to work on my Vibe.

Re: Steering Pull, What's Causing It?

XRVibe10, And one more thing, if I take this in to get checked out, would I be better off taking it to a Toyota dealer or a (Former Pontiac) GMC/Buick dealer. I've had this '09 GT with only 42,000 miles since late June and up till now haven't had any problems. I'd like to take it in just once for th...

Re: Steering Pull, What's Causing It?

XRVibe10, Does this have anything to do with that rattle I'm hearing in my steering column? I had no rattle and the car drove just fine until I took a trip to Texas in August. Both issues (the steering pull and the rattle) seemed to start happening simultaneously after that trip, and both are gettin...

Re: Steering Pull, What's Causing It?

Yes, it pulls to the right usually under 20MPH just after but not while braking, but this morning I noticed it pulling to the left when braking. Tire pressure is good. If was an alignment issue I would think that it would pull all the time but it pulls randomly, not all the time. I kind almost think...

Steering Pull, What's Causing It?

My '09 GT's steering wants to pull sometimes to the left, but mostly to the right when accelerating or slow rolling over bumps in the road. It's gotten bad enough that even my wife noticed the other day. I have 2-month old tires on the front. The alignment was checked then and was OK. Is there a ste...

Re: That Rattle in the Dash

Thanks Kincaid! Yes, it does seem to be coming from the steering column. I can even feel it a little bit in the steering wheel at slow speeds. Not worth replacing the whole column, though. I'll just live with it, too. I also just wanted to make sure it was nothing dangerous.

That Rattle in the Dash

I read somewhere, on this forum, about the 09/10 Vibes having a rattle in the dash board. My 09 GT did not have a rattle, well, not until this past week when I drove it to Texas. I-10 and I-20 in Louisiana are the most beat up freeways I have ever traveled. And when i got to Ft. Worth, I could not b...

Re: "Why the heck did you buy a Pontiac?!!"

I'm sorry people, I don't mean to hate on Pontiac. Especially the people that worked for them. It's not their fault. I was a big Pontiac guy. My first car was a Tempest. My third car was a Sunbird (Worse car I ever owned). My forth car was LeMans. My wife had two 80's Firebirds (2nd and 3rd worse ca...

"Why the heck did you buy a POS Pontiac?!!". Like it's some cousin to the Aztec. I have owned my '09 Vibe GT for not even a week I have had to explain myself at least a half a dozen times. I just love having to explain to the uneducated consumer (Not that I'm an expert or anything) that th...

I noticed there was thread about Vibe stickers. But it looks like nothing has been done with it in a while. Is there still any interest? Almost identical to mine but I do have the sunroof. I thought all the GTs had them. Where abouts are you in Florida. I'm in Central. I'm in St Pete. Oil burning? I hope not. I did purchase a 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, so I'm good for a while. If it start burning oil I'll make them fix it. Ho...

New Vibe GT Owner (Me Too!)

Hello Everybody, I just bought this 2009 Vibe GT a week ago today. I should've bought one years ago. I just recently found out that the Vibe is what Edmunds call a "Non-Identical" twin to the Toyota Matrix. I love this car! I test drove a base model Vibe, but did not care for the lack of p...

Re: New Vibe GT owner (Me Too!)

Hello Everyone. I just bought my 2009 Vibe GT last Saturday. I love it! Man, this thing is loaded. Probably, no for sure, the most fun car I ever driven. I traded my '05 Ram Hemi for it. Almost got cold feet, but did it anyway. It's all about MPG now. I really don't need a truck anymore, so it made ...
