Excellent information.

Thank you both.

Now if I can only get someone to confirm my question in my other post....

Thanks again!

Recirculation stopped working - button light still on

Hey everyone. I believe that the function of the recirculating button has stopped. Previously when I would have my AC on and would press the recirculation button there was a clear and distinct sound difference as if a fan would come on to start recirculating the air. Perhaps a vent would close to re...

Are Vibe and Matrix instrument clusters interchangeable?

Hello. On another post I have on this forum I've asked this same question but it's buried at the bottom of the post. I have an '05 Vibe that has hit the dreaded 299,999. I wanted to know if of anyone can confirm or deny whether the instrument cluster of the Vibe and Matrix are interchangeable. I und...

Replacing instrument cluster at 299,999km

Hello everyone. I don't come to this forum often but when I do i always find the answer I'm looking for. I'm hoping this time will be no different. I just hit 299,999km in my '05 Vibe. If I were in the US and not Canada, this wouldnt be an issue because that would only be 186,400 miles. As expected,...

Re: 2005 Vibe remote starter - Bypass? No bypass?

Thanks for the reply. It's the ProStart 2-in-1 remote starter and keyless entry. Not sure if you've heard of this brand. I picked up from Canadian (aka Crappy) Tire. It's like a mix between Pep Boys and Home Depot. I've never had a duplicate key made but the keys certainly don't look like they are a...

So far this is the closest I've come to finding an answer:

2005 Vibe remote starter - Bypass? No bypass?

Hey everyone. I've had a remote starter sitting in the box for the last two years with every intention of getting it installed. Now with winter around the corner, I'd like to get it done ASAP. I've been doing some research and the main question I haven't been able to answer is whether or not my '05 ...

Re: 2005 Base AT filter and gasket kit?

+1 on the Amsoil! I'm doing my Chevy Trailblazer soon. 13.8 quarts! That's a big transmission! I've had nothing but great experiences with Amsoil. My weekend/summer toy is a 1993 Honda del Sol Si. This past spring I had a lot of work done including an auto-manual transmission swap with a Quaife LSD...

Re: 2005 Base AT filter and gasket kit?

Thanks for the reply. I have to agree with you that servicing the transmission must include more than simply draining and filling the case. Every automatic car I have owned in the past has had the complete transmission service done. I don't see why this one should be any different. My intentions wer...

2005 Base AT filter and gasket kit?

Hey everyone. I've been able to find AT filter and gasket replacement kits for my 2005 base Vibe online and even watched a video of the service being done just to be familiar with it. I called Toyota to get a price on the kit but I was advised that the transmission only requires a drain-and-fill ser...

It was the CIG fuse that was the problem.

Thanks again for the help.

Re: OEM radio locked after lighter short

Thanks for the replies. Sorry... Totally slipped my mind. It's a 2005. It happened as we were on our way to a 5 hour road trip. I only had a brief moment to take a peak at the fuse box under the dash and under the hood. Whoever decided to put the fuse box under dash must hate people! I could really ...

OEM radio locked after lighter short

Hi everyone. I recently went to plug in my FM tuner for my MP3 player into the lighter. I didn't realize at the time but the plg was broken and when I tried to insert it into the lighter it shorted out the lighter and caused the radio to shut off and now I believe it's in theft mode. I tested the li...
