Would these PT cruiser rims fit my 2003 vibe?

I was looking at another set of rims for winter tires. Would these PT cruisers rims fit on my vibe? http://brainerd.craigslist.org/pts/3268124527.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I found an old post from viberrr that shows some of the compatible tires. (http://forums.gen...

Re: A/C not working

Replaced the low pressure switch and the drier. When I vacuummed it down I noticed it was leaking somewhere a bit. Took off the drier and checked all the orings and made sure they had oil. Added a bit of freon to it and leaked out. Added a bit more (it seemed to hold the pressure) and left it over n...

Re: A/C not working

Thinking I'm going to order a new low pressure switch. Does anyone know if I have to vac down the system to replace that? Or is there a valve on it? Looks like amazon has a fairly cheap one for $70. Also when I replaced my compressor, I didn't replace the receiver/drier, I saw people recommended tha...

Re: A/C not working

Well a little more debugging. Using that onvien40.pdf I posted before. I hooked a multimeter to the male pins 1 and 4. I jumpered the female side of pins 1 and 4. I read no continuity until I get the high side to 225lbs of pressure (low side is about 40-45). When I disconnect the jumpered wires. I g...

Re: A/C not working

Also I'm not getting the engine idle rpm increase when I hit the A/C button like I was before. Could my engine be too hot (maybe an air bubble in the line from the flush)?

Re: A/C not working

Well I got everything done. Flushed the coolant, new thermostat. Replaced Compressor and flushed the lines, then vac it out and added r134a. When I added it I had to jumper the Low pressure switch pin to get the compressor to turn so I could add it. I was getting a low side pressure of 35psi and hig...

Re: 14mm bolt on alternator stuck

After rounding it off and wd40 and the torch... I ended up using the saw-all and cut off head of the bolt and the area right before the sleave on the alternator. This was made easier because I had the compressor out to change that out. A little easier... Still sucked....

Found this thread with a similar issue http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=27344&p=309799" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Tried heating up the other nut on it. Still wouldn't move. Now it is pretty well rounded over. Any tips? Is the nut on the othe...

14mm bolt on alternator stuck

I am in the process of changing my coolant thermostat. I was trying to take off the alternator. The top bolt came off easy. The bottom bolt is stuck on hard. I didn't want to reef on it too hard and break something. I've used the breaker bar... and still it is stuck. Any tips??

Re: A/C not working

Well I'm going to buy the stuff to do it myself. Already have a vac pump. I'll get the guage set as well. Looks like there are some fairly cheap remanufatured ones on ebay for $130 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Premium-A-C-Compressor-Pontiac-Vibe-2003-2008-1-8L-V4-Gas-Highest-Quality-/160801749228?pt=Mot...

Re: A/C not working

Well I finally got around to working on it again.

I tried to move the clutch and I can't get it to move at all. Should it be able to move with the belt on?

I am getting 12V at the compressor when it is bypassed.

So that probably means I need a new compressor?

Re: A/C not working

I was going to bring it in to have it looked at, but I looked at it a little more first. How can you tell if the compressor clutch is engaging? I hear the RPMs rev up when I touch the pin 1 and 4 together. But one of my co-workers looked at it and he questioned... should the endcap (?) of the compre...

A/C not working

I could have swore that I tried out the A/C when I was taking a test drive before I bought my vibe month or two ago and that it worked.... But tried the last week when it got hot out and it doesn't blow cold air. Here is what I have learned so far: Replaced the relay with the horn relay. Doesn't app...

I did find some that hadn't fell off on the fender. They were the push style ones like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-FRONT-FENDER-PUSH-TYPE-CLIP-LEXUS-CELICA-MATRIX-VIBE-/260731379151?hash=item3cb4cd1dcf&item=260731379151&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_623wt_905&quo...

Tear in the front strut baffling

I was replaced the inner fenders in my new (to me) 2003 vibe. I noticed that the front strut baffles are ripped. Is there anything I can do about it? Or is it OK to drive it like that?

Inner Fender Replacement

I just got a 2003 Vibe GT and I was getting to some maintenance stuff the previous owner neglected. It looks like he had a few flats and took chunks of both the inner fenders on the front. They were flapping around a bit and the wheels would hit them on hard turns. I ordered some replacement ones fr...

Re: How-To Remove Door Panels for Speaker or Window Maintena

Thanks for this! Just got a 2003 GT with a known window issue. Followed these instructions to and it turned out that part of the scissor lift that was lifting the window was bent and catching part of the door on the way down. A couple little bends with the visegrips fixed that!
