Re: Friend's 06 Matrix FS

A friend of mine's wife had a clean low mileage 2006 AWD Dodge Caliber RT they just traded in on a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, and after the fact I heard they got $3700 trade in for their Caliber. I about cried when I heard. That would of been a perfect third vehicle to my 2016 4X4 Jeep Renagade and 2006...

Re: 2006 AWD Pontiac Vibe with Bad Transmission

image.jpeg The buyer definately new the car had a bad transmission. He asked my opinion as far as having that trans rebuilt, buying a rebuilt trans, or buying a used trans. I told him buying a rebuilt trans or having that one rebuilt was expensive, and you could buy used ones as low as $400 to $600...

Re: 2006 AWD Pontiac Vibe with Bad Transmission

I was thinking the same thing about the scam, but the money was in my PayPal account, and I transferred it out of my PayPal account into another account, and this was all over two weeks ago. I think it's okay. If people are out there trying to scam people out of their cars, and I'm sure there are, I...

Re: 2006 AWD Pontiac Vibe with Bad Transmission

I put this car on Craig's List in the Detroit area for $2500 O.B.O. I didn't receive one call. I dropped it to $2000, but still didn't receive one call. I dropped it to $1500, and received a call from a guy who offered me $400 for it, and when I told him no way he actually got belligerent with me. I...

2006 AWD Pontiac Vibe with Bad Transmission

2006 All Wheel Drive Pontiac Vibe. This car has a bad transmission. You can drive the car, but it only has high gear. No reverse. Car has always been a great running car. Car has 175,000 miles on it. Engine does not burn oil. Car has A/C, power locks, power windows, aluminum wheels, cruise control, ...

Low Mileage "Beer Can" 2010 AWD Vibe Available

First and foremost I'll define "beer can" by saying back in the 1980s when I sold new cars that was a term used to describe a car with no options. New car sales managers would order them for basically two reasons. They were really cheap and you could use these cars in your sale adds to get...

Transmission Help

I've been a member on here for about 4 years, but haven't posted recently, but now I find myself in desperate need of some transmission info. I have a 2006 AWD Vibe with 175,000. Since I bought my first 2003 AWD Vibe brand new I'm now on my 4th and 5th AWD Vibe I currently own. Any way, I was on the...

Old Body Style vs. New Body Style

My wife and I have only ever owned the first body style of Vibes. We've owned two 2003s, one 2004, and one 2006. We've been out test driving 2009 and 2010 Vibes, and my wife and I both think the new body style has less room, and we seem cramped. Does anybody else who has owned both the old body styl...

I bought a 2006 Vibe in New York, and brought it home to Michigan, and the first thing I did when I got home was take the front license plate bracket of it. I still have it if you need it. Only 2 screws holding it on.

Re: What do you plug into your 110 outlet?

Back when the Vibes first came out my brother bought his daughter a new Vibe for high school graduation. After having it for awhile my niece told my brother she loves her Vibe because she can plug her curling iron into the dash and curl her hair on the way to work. As far as myself I once tried to r...

Re: Windows steaming up with defroster on full

The compressor stops running when outside temps fall into the 30-something degree range. I would have to believe the compressor quits running closer to the 50 degree range, and the reason I say this is because even though I'm in the heating and cooling business I don't know a whole lot about automo...

Re: Looking for a Vibe

You can increase your chances of finding a good, lower mileage Vibe, by including FWD Vibes. I live in Maine and just stick a good set of snow tires on the steel wheels, instantly turning my Vibe into a great snow mobile. I drive from 50 to over 100 miles one way to get to the bigger ski areas in t...

Re: Windows steaming up with defroster on full

I see this all the time up here in Michigan during bad weather, and it happens in all cars, SUVs, pick ups, etc. if you don't turn the recirc air off. Like others have mentioned it's best to use fresh air when using the defrost. If you use the defrost and have the temp control set over to hot the A/...

This thread is making me feel awfully good about getting my mint-condition 09 for under $8000, even though it had 99,000 miles on it. There's actually a 2009 AWD Vibe not too far from my house in Farmington Hills, MI for sale with a 102,000 miles on it for $9,244, but I'm trying to avoid that kind ...

[ I'm sure the color you saw was Mystic Blue Metallic. It was only available for 2009. It's an iridescent color so it can appear to be a different color / shade under certain light. I have only ever seen two Vibes in this color in person and they have both been 1.8L Bases. It's a very unique and rar...

Looking for a Vibe

I hate to admit this, but between my wife and I we just totaled our 3rd AWD Vibe. We've lost 2 to hitting deer, and my wife was involved in one of those pile up accidents on the freeway. That's how we lost the third one. We still own a 2006 AWD Vibe, but now I want a 2009 or 2010 AWD Vibe. Living in...

2003-2008 Grey Original Equipment Floor Mats

My wife and I have owned four different AWD Pontiac Vibes since late Fall of 2002. For the most part I'm the only one driving my Vibe, and my wife is the only person driving her Vibe. The problem we've had over the last ten years is heel wear on the driver's floor mat. Since you can't purchase only ...

Re: Serius Antenna and Trailer wiring, 2009 Vibe GT

The 2004 AWD Vibe I bought a few months ago came with a Putnam Trailer Hitch & Wiring Harness, and the wiring harness looks pretty basic. It looks like you unplug the wires going into the back of the brake lights and turn signals in the rear of the car, and you plug this wiring harness in, and y...

I know this is probably a stupid question, but you know what they say "The only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked". At least I think that's what they say. I need to change my front driver's side turn signal bulb. Do I have to take the battery out like when changing the head...

Whenever I buy tires I spend a little extra and buy the better quality Michelins, and it seems like I get between 60,000 to 70,000 out of a set. When it comes to buying tires I'm definately my father's son. He used to tell me tires were the one thing you didn't want to look for the best deal on.

My brother and myself both bought 2003 AWD Vibes in the late fall of 2002, and at this same time my cousin bought a FWD Vibe, so we had 3 Vibes in our family within a few weeks of each other. My Vibe was dark blue, and the thing was a warrior. I put close to 250,000 miles on it before hitting a deer...

The radio in the used Vibe I bought was so bad I replaced the radio. Found a used one on Craigslist that was actually within 15 minutes of my house for $50.00, and it took a whole 15 minutes to change.
The two knobs themselves are available at any GM dealership parts department for about $4.00 each.

Any ideas? I've been told two differe...
