My solution was to drill two small pilot holes in the fascia just below the horizontal break in the front bumper. I then slightly crimped the license plate in the middle to conform to the "V" shaped front end, and screwed it directly to the lower fascia.See my avatar at left for how it loo...

Door Jamb sticker says "03/02". VIN last six digits: "406382". I took delivery on 15 March 2002 (the Ides of March!). It had 9 miles on it, 4 of which were put on by me on my test drive. Not the oldest, but surely one of the earlier purchase dates.

I just stuck my head out in the garage and looked at mine - you're right: the left one (driver's side) is exactly horizontal (for all practical purposes); the right one (passenger's side) is at 25 degrees above horizontal. Do ya s'pose it might be for a reason?

Since I got my silver Vibe GT on the Ides of March (15 March 2002), I have not seen a single other Vibe on the roads/streets of southern California. I have been from San Bernardino to San Diego and from Riverside to LA. Not a one! Kinda makes ya wonder where they all are.
