Re: (Eddie&theVIBE)

My '04 purchased in August 2003 is now 5.5 years old and the battery is the original. Recently tested at 280 CCA. Not bad. Still going strong and no need to replace. Besides, I really want to see how long it will last. Got a feeling that the heat of the upcoming summer might do it in. No complaints ...

Re: (Kamikaze)

Got my 2004 Vibe in Aug 2003. Still going strong with the original battery, five years and four months. I want to get a new battery with the winter here, but I also want to see how long it will last. Probably will get a new one and not tempt fate.

Re: (Digger)

I can't pin it on air temperature, but it only happens after the car has been dirven for a while. So, the car has to be warm for this to happen.

Rock the car - squeak, squeak, squeak

When I get out of my 2004 Vibe, the car squeaks. Sounds like it's coming from the front driver side. If I rock the car back and forth, I can hear the squeak. But, sometimes the car is quiet like it should be. Can it be weather related? Noise when cold? Any idea what the noise is? Of course, when I t...

Very interesting design. However, I am trying to eliminate the removal and storage of a cover, so I think I'm going to continue to look into a shade type device.

Re: Cargo cover improvement possible? (vibrtor)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but don't know how I would attach the shade to the two hooks. Typically, a shade has a "prong" at each end that pops into a slot to hold it in place. Once I solve that problem, the shade solution will work. Any ideas?

Cargo cover improvement possible?

That cargo cover is a pain to remove and then replace. My old Jeep had a window shade type of system. Just remove from one end and it rolled up automatically. Pull out when needed. Has anyone had any luck with a better cargo cover for the Vibe?

Re: Mounting XM Roady2 in Vibe (eilros)

Remove the blank lower button under the AC controls. This will give you a flat surface. Mount the Roady there with velcro. No other controls or buttons are affected by the placement, even though the picture may not show that clearly. This is a great location. From the driver seat, the extreme left s...

Re: (Jahntassa)

Doesn't interfere at all. It's the best place I could think of to mount the Roady. Please not that when sitting in the driver's seat, since you would be looking at the Roady from a slightly different angle than the straight shot photo, you would not see the extreme left side of the unit, but that ha...

Re: Satellite radio placement (thermometer)

I removed the button on the panel that does nothing and it left me with a flat surface. I mounted the Roady there with velcro. Here is a photo. Works nicely.

Re: air filter for the cabin (Ponyota)

Has anyone actually bought the C.G. Enterprises cabin air filter for $9.95?Spending $30+ dollars for that little filter is absurd. I was quoted $41 at the dealer today and $32 at NAPA online plus shipping and tax. So $9.95 plus $4.50 shipping sounds great if the filter is any good.

Re: Scalloped rear tires (Kingfisher)

GM specs call for the rear camber setting to be slightly "tilted." This will cause uneven wear on the inside rear tires. Rotate tires at every oil change.

Rear alignment and tire wear

I recently went 10,000 miles without a tire rotation. I was gettting a funny whining noise from the rear of the car, so I brought my Vibe to the local tire shop. Both rear tires were worn on the inside. We put the car on the alignment rack and it was within GM specs, which actually called for the ca...

Satellite radio placement

I just bought a Roady 2 because it has wireless FM transmission and I do not have to hard wire it into my Vibe. I travel with other cars sometimes and I want to take the Roady with me. It actually sounds pretty good. But, I'm having trouble figuring out where to mount it in the Vibe. There's not muc...

Bike rack and rear window

I want to tote my bike with me and I don't want a roof mounted rack. Also, I'm looking for alternatives to a tow bar type installation. The next choice is the type that hangs onto the back of the car, but I don't want it leaning on the glass. Anyone see any type of rear mounted rack that would hang ...
