Also if you do decide to do it yourself send me a private message and I'll send you some instructions I found that I believe are scanned from one of the maintenance manuals.

Re: A tip for changing serp belt by yourself (austinb82)

yeah its really not that hard and if you use a ratchet strap to hold the tensioner you can have 2 hands free. The one suggestion I have is the instructions I had showed a picture telling you to remove a metal part with a rubber peice in it that attaches the engine to the body. I think it is some sort...

A tip for changing serp belt by yourself

I changed the serpentine belt on my vibe yesterday. I looked at this forum first before doing so and I tried to figure out the c-clamp method of releasing the tension but wasn't sure what I was supposed to clamp down plus my clamps are cheap hard plastic ones so I didn't quite trust them. I decided ...

Trans filter....to change or not to change

I went into the Toyota dealership (they were cheaper than GM) today to get ATF type T-IV fluid to do a fluid change on my 2005 Vibe. When I was talking to them about the filter they told me that while they didn't know about the vibe (I'm assuming same transmission) they don't normally change the fil...

What filter and gaskets for transmission?

Hi. I recently got a vibe and there were a few minor maintenance things I needed to perform on it one of which is a transmission flush. While the GM dealership could look up all the parts from my vin number they can only give me the GM part number and their prices for all the parts are much higher t...

Double checking the wiring

Hi, my vibe stock stereo has the infamous dead illumination bulb issue so I decided to just install a better aftermarket stereo. I've only installed an aftermarket stereo once before on an older car so I just wanted to double check that I did the wiring correctly. My 2005 Vibe only came with the bas...

Weird, all of a sudden today the light started working properly again and turning off when I closed the door. I haven't opened any doors other than the drivers door since it was still an issue last night but I did drive it about 30 miles this morning so maybe it was just a lose wire that worked itse...

Re: (Salsa Guy)

I do have a nice digital multimeter at home but I don't know really know much about electric stuff like this so I wouldn't know what to test. I also have no clue how to read a wiring diagram so even if I had the manual it wouldn't be of much use. The door switches do have a connector with several wi...

Re: Door ajar light always on (morbay)

It feels like the hatch is closing all the way but maybe it is open just enough that the light stays on? Is there a way to test to see if it is the rear hatch not quite closing all the way like you can with the other doors by pressing the little door courtesy swtiches which are on every door? It see...

Re: (lovemyraffe)

Nope I checked the hatch (both the window and the door itself) and all the doors multiple times, I've slammed it down pretty hard but the light is still on and has been for several days during which time all doors (and the hatch) have been opened and closed multiple times as well.

No sunroof on mine so its not that. I found the MFAM, it was that green thing labeled integration relay (toyota's term). Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it? should i just remove it and if the lights are still on its not the MFAM? Also how do I go about removing the MFAM if that is the issue...d...

Door ajar light always on

Hi. I recently picked up a 2005 vibe and love it. However, the other day the door ajar light started staying on all the time. I've checked all the doors and the hatch multiple times and they are definitely all closed. I tried unscrewing, unplugging and replugged in all the door sensors on all 4 of t...
