Hi. I recently got a vibe and there were a few minor maintenance things I needed to perform on it one of which is a transmission flush. While the GM dealership could look up all the parts from my vin number they can only give me the GM part number and their prices for all the parts are much higher than the same parts at the toyota dealership. Unfortunately the Toyota dealer can't look up my GM vin number to find the appropriate parts and they said there are 2 different filers so I have to get the toyota part numbers for the parts before they order them. My vibe is the base model with the VVT-i (1ZZ-FE I think) engine and is the 2wd version. Does anyone know the toyota part number for the transmission filter and for the gasket for the 2005 VVT-i 2wd vibe?
That's called the parts people being lazy and ignorant. Whenever I'm at the Toyota parts counter I just ask for whatever parts I need using a Matrix of equivilant trim and year. If they ask for a vin I tell them the car is at home and I'm not making 3 trips! In your case it would be a transmission gasket and filter for a 2005 base Matrix with 4 speed auto, non AWD. That will be all they need to know.Or you can get a vin from an 05 automatic transmissioned Matrix like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lhNXlPpGk8 Vin number's right there in the description.
