oh, I skimmed through and thought it was 150 per tank. At one point before the repair I was getting under 200 for a full tank.

Re: loss of gas mileage (annie_vernon)

150 miles is pretty bad. I just posted a message on another thread about how I fixed the mileage on mine. There's a known problem with a gasket in some engines.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=36614scroll down to the bottom.

Re: Am I screwed? Condition existed prior to warranty expiration. (NJVibe04Salsa)

This is an old thread, but I thought I would revisit it because the problem did end getting resolved (unfortunately without any help from the dealer). Last winter my check engine light threw two codes: P0133 and P0171. After doing some online research, I stumbled across the TSB attached below. Havin...

Re: All-wheel drive not working?! (abyssvibeawd)

I would recommend not waiting. The guys at GM service said one of the reasons they wouldn't offer any leniency beyond the warranty period is because I waited a period of time before returning to them about the problem. Also, they did not document my complaints on their records. Luckily I saved the c...

Re: All-wheel drive not working?! (abyssvibeawd)

Thanks for the video. That is exactly one mine does. It would exemplify the problem even better if you tried to drive up a slight incline to show the rear wheels not moving at all even with continuous rotation of the front wheels. The snow season is over around here but I was thinking of rigging som...

Re: Gas Mileage (Tarfu43)

Before your warranty runs out, get the transmission thoroughly checked to see if the viscous coupling slips. The AWD mileage has been a popular topic on the Vibe/Matrix boards. A number of people are reporting low 20's mpg while others are oddly up around 30. I have some suspicion that I may be on t...

Am I screwed? Condition existed prior to warranty expiration.

I posted this message back in 2004:http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...68027 which, in summary, was a complaint about the poor mileage on my new Vibe and the dealer/service dept's refusal to acknowledge any problems. I had brought it in several more times, complaining about the mileage and also the fac...

Re: All-wheel drive not working?! (healthy)

We that is not very good news for me. Almost five years have passed and I have lived with this problem and also poor mileage (20mpg! which I suspect is related). Each time I had brought the car in for service they denied any problems. Did your dealer specify exactly what the failure was? Also, I won...

I bought the Scangauge II about six months ago. My 04 AWD gets on average 25 MPG (50/50 city/hwy). I can drive about 285 miles before the orange light comes on, then I make a white knuckle dash to the gas station. Highway mileage averages about 27 MPG, City is 22 MPG. What can I do about the low mileage???

30 mpg is amazing. I have not achieved above 27mpg this entire year. My 2004 AWD averages between 22 city and 26mpg highway. I'm a fairly conservative driver. I don't floor the gas at all, in fact when driving my other two cars, a Miata and Corolla, they do achieve 33 and 34 mpg respectively (above ...

My 2004 AWD is has been averaging 25.85MPG over the past 8000 miles. 75% highway driving at 60-75mph. The car has never achieved 30MPG. This is pretty far off from the EPA estimate of 26 City 31 Hwy. Bought my Vibe AWD less than a month ago. I've only filledthe tank 3 times, and each time, the average mpg was around 23-24.This is mixed highway and off-highway driving.
