You may want to try computer screen wipes. Several of the wood polish folks make the stuff, especially for electronics and computers. The stuff is supposed to help eliminate static also - I've had mixed results. Also, the computer accessory manufactrer, Fellows makes them.

From what I can tell, the 04 Matrix gauges are the same as the 04 Vibe. These differ from the 03 in that they have white lettering instead of all red. Do a search and you caqn find more info - it is a well covered topic.
