The 'keystone' part that the gauge sending unit slides into.The cover on the bottom of the pump. The bottom of the unit with the little rubber 'nipple' sticking through.

The removed unit...The permanent retainer for the fuel strainer...I bent the tangs back with a small screwdriver just a bit. Not sure if I moved them at all.Using a socket to drive the permanent retainer back onto the bottom of the pump. Just gentle taps got it on.Assembled.

The top of the tank exposed....A close up of the fuel pump/gauge connector. This was the first roughly tricky part to get apart.

The boxes of parts...The pump. It was in a AC Delco box, but had the same denso p/n on it as the one I pulled out.The access panel under the seat with the wire protector on it.

Interesting, just looked. The Advanced Auto stores only offer the rectangular one for Vibes, no L shaped one. Wonder if the rectangle will work for any of them. Edit: Same with Autozone. Hmmmmmm

I just went down to Azone and bought their Duralast Ceramic pads. I put some Semi-Metallics on the front of my truck. I have Ceramics for street use on the front of my IROC. I don't get fancy on daily drivers...just use something easy to find w/lifetime warranty.My wife had a bit over 100k when hers...

OK. I'm going to order the 3 pieces up. I figured it only made sense to change it all. I was suprised when there was all this talk on here about never needing to change the fuel filter...but nothing about 'but when you do the pump, it only makes sense'...I hope the L shaped one is the cheaper one!!!...

Did some searching around and think I've got a decent idea on the replacement of my wife's Vibe's Fuel pump.A couple parts procurment questions though.I'm looking at like Adv Auto and they have a fuel pump w/1 yr warranty for 130 or so dollars. I get on Rock Auto and I can get a AC Delco unit for 60...

That is exactly what happened. Either myself or someone else my wife was transporting got their foot up there and pulled it off. I was rinse-n-vacking it last night and found the problem and fixed it. I bet I vac'd about a gallon of water out of the front and rear footwell!

I need to buy a new socket to take the lugnuts off our 04 Vibe. It has the 16" Alloy rims. Does anyone know what size these lugnuts are? IS there any issues with fitting a impact socket in the hole? It seems to hug the lugnuts awful close.Thanks,
