Larger Webasto Sunroof Installed...Check it Out!

Post by autodescom »

I just got a 2005 Vibe GT and within days of getting it, I cut out the original sunroof and installed the Webasto Stratos 400 and it is now attracting quite alot of attention. Because of the larger width of the original sunroof, I had to add 3 inches to each side, but the length increase is alot of fun. The job would have been really simple if I didnt already have a factory sunroof. Anybody need a Vibe Sunroof? What do you think?

If you planned to install a moonroof anyway, why did you get one with a factory roof?Just curious.

I wasn't planning on doing it until I found the Webasto Roof on the web and contacted them.

No, but if you have the top open you have to have the back windows down a little to prevent buffeting in your ears.

I am self taught...Jump in with both feet and if you screw it up, learn to fix it on the job.

I am going to make a kit that will allow us to remove the roof rack and put filler panels in place. Should have it complete within 2 weeks.

No I am waiting on getting a non-sunroof headliner in so I can cut out the larger opening in it. Its amazing that dealers dont have these in stock! I figured everybody cut into their roofs!
