Moon and tunes amp wont amplify left speakers..

Post by Azatotht »

Hi guys, it seems my moon and tunes amplifier wont amplify the left speakers, only right side of the car has the proper power, left seems to be only running on the normal radio power. is there anything i can look at, fuse, or a particular wire on the amp itself ? Can it be blown ? I bought the car wrecked and had it repaired by someone, maybe it has been damaged in the accident, or a wire is loose. Thx for any suggestions.

Welcome to GenVibe!! Well, how was the car wrecked? If the left side was wrecked, they may have rerun the wires directly from the HU not realizing that the M&T package has an amp.

Thx :-) Well yes indeed, the left side has been damaged but not that much, impact was at the rear. This sounds like a possibilities, any walkthrough on how i could check this out ? I am unfortunately not a mechanics, i locate the amp under the passenger seat, but didnt not really understood what all the wires were for ....

Sounds like a good idea, any pdf available ? If someone has what i need, feel free to post a link please.Thx Mr. Poopypants, lets hope i can find the faulty wire... if a wire it is, i fear a blown out amp. Btw my car is silver grey, with silver grey bottom, just like the one we see behind yours in the picture...

You did check your balance/fader controls, right? Also, are you getting sound out of all six speakers (four doors, two tweeters) if one of the speakers came unplugged, that might affect the amplifier for that side..
