I have a 2005 Vibe on order (FWD, auto trans, monotone Moonstone, graphite trim, ABS, Stabilitrak, side/curtain airbags, Moon/Tunes/XM radio, alum. wheels) -- it is scheduled to be built this week. In theory, I should have delivery early Sept. or so. In theory. Anyway, I'm curious as to forum members' experiences who already own a 2005... Are there many of you out there as yet? Thanks!
What sort of "experiences" are you talking about? Comparing it to the 03's (my old vibe), there are lots of little cosmetic changes, but the most noteable being a much quieter ride, and lack of cross bars on the roof rack (they're accessories now). There is an on/off feature on the passenger airbag now too.at least i didn't have to wait for a new vibe this time out, they had one in stock with the color and features we wanted!
Current car: 2011 Red Hyundai Elantra. Last Vibe: 2005 Fusion Vibe A/T, power group, moon and tunes, ABS, alloy wheels, window tinting, stone/bug shield. First Vibe: 2003 Salsa Two Tone, A/T, power group, totaled by my son in a rollover accident, 7-8-2004
I bought mine at the end of June and everythings seems to be doing fine. I have an annoying moonroof rattle at highway speeds, but no other issues. Hope you enjoy the new ride.

2005 Vibe FWD owner here. The car is actually my wifes, but I do drive it a lot. I love the cargo capacity of this car, and the gas mileage it gets. The car would be great if it had more power, but that is when I compare it to my other car, a 2002 Honda Civic SiR (hatch). One thing I dislike about the car is that when I start the car only to move it in the driveway, it shakes when I then turn it off. Seems that the shaking only happens when the car has had a chance to warm up, but this is just strange IMO.Peace out... for pics of the 2 cars, go here:2005 Vibe: http://sbc31.com/vibe.html2002 Civic SiR: http://sbc31.com/sir.html
Following up to my original post: my main interest is to get a general sense of likes/dislikes about the '05's. Also curious why folks purchased a Vibe over other models. For myself, I checked out a variety of "regular" SUV's and basically didn't care much for their larger size, relatively poorer gas mileage and sitting up much higher than a "car." I'd looked at vehicles like the RAV4 and nixed it due to the way the storage space is set up. I prefer the way the Vibe has all of that flat cargo space. I also think the 2005 Vibe looks better than the earlier model (just my opinion)
