Well I finally found a vibe with the options I wanted and bought it August 6. Got the power, sport, safety & security, and spoiler package in monotone abyss black with a security system. So far I love it and I've had lots of chance to check it out. The first day I had to go to Saskatoon from Edmonton, and then 2 days later I continued on to Winnipeg. The next day I drove it back to Edmonton - did my first oil change at 3500 k four days after I bought it. Then August 12 I took it to Fairmont hotsprings, then on to Penticton the next day. 2 days later I took it through Merritt BC, up the Coquihala to Kamloops, then through Jasper back home to Edmonton. In 10 days, my car has driven over 5800 k, been through temperatures between 7 C and 43 C, rain and sun, mountains and prairies. It was a little more sluggish than I am used to on the 30 k climb between Peachland and Merritt, but getting an average of 45 mpg (Canadian) made up for it. I feel terrible putting so many klicks on the car all at once, but like my son said, it's why I bought it. Next trip is to Williams Lake BC August 29. My vibe will be taking it easy until then.
wow... and here I babied mine for the first 5000km haha.Congrats on the purchase and yes, we all bought the Vibe to drive it and thats what your doing.

congratulations on the new vibe. What year is it, and auto or manual?Aside from "a little more sluggish than I am used to on the 30 k climb " how do you like it?
congrats on your new purchase! wow! that's a lot of driving so soon! my first road trip was only 350 miles rt to seward. nothing like you. LOL but.... where's the pics? we love pics!
My vibe is a 2004 - I don't really like the front end of the 2005. Also there is a "secret" credit on the 2004's that the dealers don't always tell you about to make them more in line with the cheaper pricing of the 2005's. I got my vibe at $500 over dealer cost so it was almost $5000 under MSRP. Plus they made a mistake on our contract so they threw in NASCAR jackets. No doubt I was very happy with the deal. I got the manual transmission, and as long as I downshifted to 3rd, I could accellerate going up those long mountain passes. 4th I could maintain my speed and 5th I lost speed. But some of those hills were killers. As far as pictures go, I don't think I stopped long enough to take any.

OR... a supercharger! but you probably don't want to spend that. LOL
