One Family, Two Vibes

Post by jmf2 »

We picked up our new 2005 Fusion Vibe exactly 30 days after our son totaled our 2003 salsa two tone (rip). And my parents bought a 2004 platinum vibe on the same day. BTW, my dad's 86 years young! First thing he checked was how his golf clubs fit in the back!'My wife and I noticed how much quieter the 2005 is, and many other little changes (gonna miss the extra storage on the top of the arm rest), but it's great driving a vibe again. Now that we have the moons and tunes package, I wish i'd ordered it the first time! The only thing we could salvage from our first vibe was the cargo mat, it's nice to have that in our new vibe. The day we drove it home, we pulled up behind a abyss vibe gt, and the couple both turn around in their seats to check out our new car, and I notice several other drivers checking out the Fusion vibe (I was driving behind my wife in my chevy metro). We feel we're adding some much need "color" to the highways! First thing I did when we got home was to take some pictures, this one is my favorite...so far! And just for the record, i liked the old front end more, but the new one does have nice simple lines.

That's the first fusion I've seen in the 05 models...Really isn't as bad as I thought -- but I agree, 03/04 was more agressive.I'm curious now, you say the 05 is quieter. I might test drive one just to see if I can pick up on any differences...Congrats on the new (again) vibe!Gonna mod it at all?

With my son in collage, and my daughter starting this fall, three car payments, and if gieco raises my premiums, ugh, i'll be brown bagging it till i'm six feet under! So...how much do you want to contribute to my "modding" fund? here's another picture i took this morning.

See, the 03/04 front end looked like it was mad.The 05 IMHO looks like it's high! LOL!I am starting to like it the more I see it though.Any chance you might make the drive to a major rally sometime? I know Idaho is out there, but not sure how far ohio or michigan are for you...Or if you're really adventurous, I'm working on a killer Jersey meet next year.

Congrats on your new Vibe. Fusion does tend to grab a person's attention I feel your pain over your totalled Vibe, as mine was totalled by a drug-abusing car thief : ragingfish, when will your Jersey meet be taking place? A general idea would work if you're not sure of the exacts.

Either late next may, or something in july. June is pretty much focused on Michigan, and August is for Ohio. But that's speculative. I need people to vote for a location before I can pick out dates...

If I were to vote for a location, then the Jersey meet would be in Florida Seriously though, if I had a choice I'd say as close to the Connecticut border as possible, as I'd be going to visit Greenwich, CT if I went to the meet (I used to live in Greenwich )

Golf clubs fit perfectly in the vibe. Almost like they designed the cargo area to just fit them.

Yup thats the first fusion 05 I have seen also and your experiencing what I do every day haha. People stop and stare at the fusion more then any of the other colours I noticeD when I got mine. I still get compliments about it, specially at car shows I go to and enter.
