Fireworks - 7/16/2004

Post by kaybeejay »

This might be a yearly trip for me.These were shot with my point and shoot Canon S45 at Shutter speeds between 2-4 seconds. The fireworks were shot over the Network Associates Colisuem after the Oakland A's game. I positioned myself across from a little estuary on the beach to take advantage of the water reflecions and colors.Enjoy!http://community.webshots.com/...tHKmZMore of the same from last year:http://community.webshots.com/album/88181761Mqrfwr

Quote, originally posted by trdvibe »did you use a tripod? and timer? Both. Since the point and shoot doesn't have a cable release - I set the timer to 2 seconds and left it on a tripod to fire the long exposure. It takes about 2 seconds from the time the fireworks are launched to when they actually explode. So I just watched for "launchings" and then pressed the button. By the time 2 seconds had gone by, the fireworks had just exploded and I was able to capture the colors.I used the timer to avoid "finger shake" when pressing the shoot button. (timer = poor mans cable release)

ahh. ok. very nice. i have a firworks setting on mine, but my prob in july was that i didn't have a way to put it on a tripod. so i tried holding it... which is why mine turned out blurry. then i gave up and just video recorded all of them! LOL
