17" or 18" rims and tire height?

Post by mu_ohio »

I'm going to replace my rims, but I'm not sure if I should stay with the 17s or move up. Does anyone make 18s that weigh as much as 17s and aren't extremely expensive? Also, I was considering using a tire size ratio that was closer to the Celica, plus new springs. Any thoughts or comments on that idea?

I just purchased a set of Allesio F1's (silver) from a site called victoriatire.com. A set of 4 18's WITH 225/40 Hankooks for around $1100. Damned good deal if you ask me, even if the tires aren't the best in the world. The F1's look just like the Mile Migla Evo 5's in the Vibe FX and cost about $300 less! http://www.wheelmax.com is another place for great wheel/tire deals.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I think it's always best to do comparative research before buying, kind like the "best bang for your buck."MU_Ohio I dont think the weight between 17's, 18's or even 19's make too much of a difference. My car feels lighter with the larger rim and the steering wheel responds just as nicely too.
