remote keypad

Post by vibeman1 »

well i guess it had to happen sooner or later, a problem. the remotekeypad was sticking in the lock possition, when i would push to unlockthe car would go back to lock instantly to keypad to dealer, they confirmed it was bad and ordered me a new one under warrenty,it should be in within a week, an't warrenty's grand. my dealer sold me that any sign of even a min.problem they replace whatever it is so pontiac will know of these problems and build a better car.i have been a ford man all my life but i never got that kind of servicefrom ford or their dealers, i am hooked on g.m. now.

Good deal... I've had the same problem with the lock button getting stuck down on both remotes since day one. I haven't had issues where it keeps locking, instead it just renders the remote useless until I play around with the button to get it to pop back up.My friend's Vibe does the same thing, in fact when we first went out to the car after he signed the papers, his remote wasn't working. I took it from him, noticed the lock button was stuck down, and then was able to unlock after getting the button to pop back up.Surprised that I haven't heard more folks with this problem.

When I installed my remote starter, I installed a lock/unlock actuator with it. I've been using the remote starter remote ever since....But when I was using my factory remote, never had a problem.

Hey now, you just tapped into the existing lock/unlock wires, Mike.. Careful, because I remember a thread going around for those without the power package trying to get actuators installed...Same thing with me, though.. I got an aftermarket alarm after being paranoid.. Nice two-way setup that replaced the stock remotes.

I know actuator isn't the word -- I'm trying to think...I guess you could call it a trigger.
