Painted Calipers

Post by Mr. Poopypants »

I decided to paint the calipers while I was changing the brakes, I got the $15usd paint-on deal from Advance Auto, I was kicking around the idea of matching the Lava color, but then I decided that, with no real visible mods and the 2 tone, it would look a little ricey. So I went with the black. It looks AMAZING and it was very easy to do. It is a ton easier to do while changing the brakes. But anyway. I recommend it for an easy appearance mod. I will post pics when my new digicam comes in next week.

Here is the front caliper. Don't mind the dirt. It looks better when clean.

Just ordered my "Pontiac" stickers today for my calipers. I'm gonna paint them while in Indiana. Looks good man! Good work!

OK, it will be a pain to redo all the pics. For future reference, I will do them in a lower resolution.

Let me get this straight, you apparently have a base model Vibe, and you painted the front caliper and the whole rear drum brake assembly? I was wondering if you could do that as I was going to paint mine as well, and since the Gt is the only 1 with front and rear disc brakes, I didn't know if doing the back brakes was even possible. Also, been looking, but is there a thread on removing and painting the calipers? I don't have a tech or service manual or extensive knowledge on doing this, but I know I can if I have the steps. I was going to get some caliper paint at Autozone or something and just do it myself. Thanks and looks good!
