Just ordered it...it's a colour the dealer didn't have so it'll be a few days (Frosty with 5 speed and NO options, just the base vibe). The only options I've purchased are the rear bumper protector and rear cargo mat. That's it...and that's the way I wanted it!!! We went with the 2004, because my wife and I prefer the front on the 04 over the 05 very much. We used the grad discount, the loyalty discount, and since the car was already a promotion (2140 dealer rebate) we got a sweet deal, fair price on the trade in also (unbelievable!). Port Pontiac in Port Colborne, Ontario gets my vote!
You say you got a fair deal on your trade. In my almost 40 years of buying new cars I have encountered two kinds of dealers. 1. The dealer where the used car operation appears to be totally separate - they will not budge $100 to clinch a new car sale. They want to make their huge profit on used cars no matter what. Never consider that some needed repair can be done while their mechanics would otherwise be sitting around doing nothing. Offer you auction price (black book) on a car they know is a cream puff they will retail themselves. 2. Dealers where the new and used car depts work together to make a sale of a new car.

i'll second the 'yay, another Ontario-ian' sentiment! welcome! i got mine in Burlington recently and had an identical experience....so there are a few good dealers out there...then there's the one down the road from where i live (not in the list!)
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
I'm not sure if this dealer will sell my trade or not; it's a seven year old Lumina, and needs some repainting on the rockers, but otherwise OK. I asked for a reasonable price, he talked me down 500, but with the tax differential I figure I got about the same as I would have gotten selling it privately if I reconditioned it for sale and safetied it myself. I got about $300 over top black book value for my car, not including what I'm saving on the taxes. And I didn't have to put up with the hassle of selling privately.I think it helped that I already had the price of the car negotiated, so I knew exactly what I was actually getting for the trade in. I told him that if I got a decent price, I'd sign on the line this afternoon; I did, and I signed.
The wife and I picked up the new Frosty Vibe tonight; we are both very impressed with the car, and love everything about it. The ride is far peppier with the manual than the auto; it's actually a pretty fun little car to drive with a 5 speed!
Yeah, I can't wait to get some nice tint on the windows; not to mention a hood protector and mud guards (I hear they're now available for the '04s!).Is there something from GM to put along the door edge, to prevent scratches to the edge of the doors?
