I just traded the Vibe in on an '04 Tiburon GT. Lowered my monthly payments $40. After a great 2 years it's sad to see it go because it was such an awesome car but I couldn't pass up this deal.Since I no longer have the Vibe, I have some items for sale:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=106571 New, still in wrapper Cabin Air Filter (SOLD)1 Helm Inc. 2003 Vibe, Vibe GT Service Manuals (2 volumes) (SOLD)1 base steel wheel cover (hubcap)20 base steel wheel lug nuts (SOLD)1 factory air box assembly (includes items listed below): (SOLD) - top and bottom box - intake tube - outlet "S" tube - clamps - mounting bolts - 1 slightly used factory filter (less than 1000 miles)1 even less used K&N filter (less than 500 miles) (SOLD)1 bottle (1/2 fl oz) of Satellite Silver touchup paint (code 13U WA891K) (SOLD)1 bottle (1/2 fl oz) of Satellite Silver touchup paint (code 13U WA891K) (SOLD)1 factory horn (SOLD)1 center console power outlet and cover (SOLD)
Well really its just the way it goes. I won't have mine in a couple of years... although I'm likely to get a brand new one instead of something else just because I'm a GM kinda gal. Some people just don't keep cars very long.

Some people, like me, have an overpowering urge to drive something new every couple of years. Thankfully with the performance mods I have done to my car I haven't felt compelled to trade in yet. I still see cars that I wish I could have, but then I think about all the money I have put into my car and I don't want to lose that. Sorry to see another Viber go, but that is the way it has to be sometimes.
I'm not usually one of those people. I still own my fist car (the Nova, 16 years). My 2nd car (a used 85 Cavalier) I had 4 years. My 3rd (a used 93 Sunbird) I owned for 6 years before the Vibe as my first new car. If the Vibe has the power of that V6 Sunbird and this V6 Tiburon, I'd still own it today.
LOL! If I did, it would have been my 5th silver car (I've only owned 8 cars). No, it's Rally Red. Almost identical in color to the '93 Sunbird I had before the Vibe.

Well - there is always a natural progression and/or regression. Some do it with wives or husbands, others with jobs, and still others with cars which may be the less expensive transition. I gave up my beloved 2001 PT Cruiser which I still miss. I don't think my Vibe is quite as exciting but the Vibe is a welcome change and it has its advantages.

I'm stuck with the Vibe for a while, I can't afford to get rid of it. I'm shooting for a minimum of 200,000 miles. And besides, I've never been one to follow the crowd anyway. So, I'll keep 'er!Nova - good choice. Dig the Tiburon, always have, but especially love it in its current form. Quite pleasant to look at. Hyundai is really putting out some good stuff these days, IMHO. I'm sure it will be a good car and you'll enjoy it. Did you get the 5-speed, 6-speed, or shiftronic auto?

‘03 Vibe with 317k and still going.............................
Just like with the Vibe, I got an auto so my wife could drive it. The shiftronic ability still makes it fun. Plus the Auto had the highest rated mileage over both the 5 and 6 speed manuals.I'll be sure to post some pics. I want to tint the windows and probably install a CAI. I'll still be around for a while. I'm thinking about joining the http://www.newtiburon.com forum. If anyone wants to know alot about the Vibe, I have the 2003 service manuals for sale. LOL!
Good choice on the tranny, that's what I was wanting when I looked at the Tiburon. Let it shift on its own whenever, but still have the option for some good clutchless fun!

Scott, sorry to see you moving on, Thanks for all of the info. You patiently answered my questions, explained a lot to me, I felt like I should call you professor a couple of times A friend of mine has a Tiburon. He had a problem (in my opinion) where the car stank when it was warmed up, I guess the exhast has some anti-corrosion coating from the factory and it took a couple thousand miles until it all burned off. Best of luck, come back and tell us how things are going. We know we can always find you at http://www.novaresource.com (you can run, but you can't hide )
Hyundai's come a long way in the past 5 yrs. I'm sure you'll dig it. Good luck with it though i doubt you'll need it.

Mine does as well. I smelled it on the drive home. At first I worried until I figured out what it was. It's very common when getting a new exhaust put on a car. When I replaced the exhaust on my '93 Sunbird, it stunk for a few days.
Seems common for Hyundai and Kia both, they tend to smell a little when new and they're warmed up... Nothing alarming, just the way they are, I suppose. You're right, it'll go away.

It stinks when it's half warmed up? Sounds like half the restaraunts in Pensacol.. >_>Seriously though, it's sad seeing you sell your Vibe, but I hope that you enjoy your Tib just as much if not more. And you better still stick around on the forums, shed some light on us car-illiterate people By the way, have you seen a Korean Tib GT V6? Wow, talk about a difference
'Tis a sad day, indeed. Sorry to see you go Scott.I remember at the auto show that you made a point to go sit in the Hyndai...little did I know. Thanks for everything (including my wheels!) I hope we can get together again in January 2005 for the Philly Auto Show.
If anyone is interested in buying my Vibe, the dealership I traded it it at has it on their webpage:http://www.burlingtonautopark....ngtonIt's listed for $16.995 and they gave me $13,695 for it. 12,600 miles.

I had mine listed in the local newspaper, ads at work, relatives work, etc. and had ZERO calls with it listed at $10,500. Put it on ebay and didn't even get to my minimum reserve of $9,500. Wound up selling it for $9500 though to a bidder. (03, base, 5-speed, 31,000 miles, returned to stock)This area has a large portion of automotive employees, or relatives of auto employees who can get employee discounts which doesn't help when trying to sell an almost new, used car. I had fun with the Vibe, but it was time to move to something different.
I'd really like to swipe the SLP hood off of it. I want that hood but find it hard to part with over $800 to get one.I don't know how I missed this post the first time around. I too wish you the best with your new car, Scott, and will miss all the great info that you brought to GenVibe.

I traded my Vibe in last week and I got $10,200 for it. It had 25K miles. I enjoyed the Vibe but I couldn't resist the current Saab 9-3 offers. I leased an '04 9-3 Arc for $20 more than my Vibe payment and with no money out of my pocket.
