Can't find post on removing dash...

Post by noginsk »

I am doing some work on my vibe finally. I have my last final tomorrow and have already worked on my vent temperature rotary knob to make it colder. I next want to tackle the vibration noise coming from what appears to be the twilight sentinel (spelling?). I remember reading about how to fix that vibration somewhere in this website a long time ago, if I am not mistaken. Yet, I can't seem to find the right post in my searches, can anyone help?

Thanks, I will try this now with a bit more confidence. Unfortunately, I can't seem to see any of the pictures. If you can think of a way for me to see them, I'd appreciate it too. Thanks!

I've got the pics, using BellSouth DSL. Mike also has a guide, I believe. I'm sure he'll spot this and chime in with it.

That is awsome! So detailed! I did try this yesterday without the aid of the pictures, but couldn't manage to get the dashboard off. I got stuck on removing the air bag harnesses. Couldn't figure out how to get them free without breaking them. And I surely didn't want to have an air bag deploy in my face. Not that it would happen with the battery disconnected, but... I noticed my buzz coming from the area of the twilight sentinel. After figuring I wasn't going to be able to do this at that time, I put it all back together. I haven't noticed a buzz yet after driving an hour or two yesterday afterwards. So, let's hope I don't need to get it off again. I did however, lose the bottom left screw hjolding the radio in place. It sort of fell off the socket and down into the bowels of the dash area. That shouldn't be a problem, right? Thanks again!

Nah..that one screw might allow it to rattle a bit, but you can probably swing by Home Depot / Lowes / Ace hardware and get them to match up another one from the three you have remaining.
