GM Card - $1,000 Bonus

Post by jake75 »

I got an e-mail extending a $1,000 add'l rebate to GM card Holders on "selected" GM Vechicles. I clicked on the site to check the details and guess what. The Vibe is not among the "selected vehicles". GM must not be as desparate as when they offered selected GM CardHolders the $2,003 rebate in Jan. 2003. That was not exactly $2,003 additional - it was increasing whatever your current rebate balance was to $2,003. Added $1.050 to my rebate balance of $950 at the time. Don't know what criteria they used in the selection of which GMCard holders to target. I had used the rebates twice @1,600 each in the past when my son's bought GM cars.

I used my $1000 GM bonus rebate to purchase a new 2004 Vibe for my wife. This particular bonus was offered because I had done an internet search for this vehicle and was valid for 5/18- 6/01 and was on top of the regular 2000 rebate. This was the clincher, but I waited until the June rebate program was announced (same 2000) before closing the deal. All in all it was a very effective program on a very nice car.

Any info on this, i.e. website address or email authorization code? I'm ready to close a deal myself and any info is much appreciated!

The GM card rebate is only if you are a GM credit card user and have made the purchases to get the GM bucks. I think its like 5% of purchases up to a preset limit for certain models. I used my GM bucks to reduce my Vibe by 1,000.00. Sometimes they run specials where you can use more bucks than the standard limit but it comes down to being a GM credit card holder.Sorry bout thatBob

I think that Corny_04963 is referring to a different bonus cash besides the gmcard amount.

This was a $1000 "Private Offer" dealer promo 0431CAK, 0432CAK, etc. and was offered due to my having done an internet location for a GM car and I was a GM Card holder.

Car buying is really getting crazy - special rebates for college grads, special rebates for military, special rebates for loyalty (current owner of same make), special rebates for conquest (current owner of a competitors make), special rebates for for friends and family of employees, special rebates for GM Cardholders who use the GM Buy power to locate a vehicle, special rebates if you finance with us, special rebates if you lease vs. buy, special rebates for returning leesees, special rebates for upromise members, etc. etc. etc.
