Replace/mod tinted console glass?

Post by vibelookr »

Considering all of the complaints of the glass tinting on the console, anyone attempt to modify it at all?

I don't know about your Vibe but there is no glass on my console. The console is the thing in-between the front seats where the parking brake handle is and has storage under the arm rest.

Actually, the tinted plastic on the gauge cluster...I've seen some instructions detailing out to dampen the rattle on it, but considering how common I've heard complaints about the tinted gauge cluster and how difficult it is to read the gauges, so I was hoping that someone might have already come up with some sort of fix...

Personally, I think the TILTING of the plastic is wrong not the TINTING. It's TILTED up instead of down. This is why you get sunglare in bright sunlight. The TINTING was done to make the gauges disappear when the car is off. It's a cool concept used on Lexus cars but the red lighting in the Vibe make it difficult to see. My opinion is to choose one of the two cool effects. Either make the gauges disappear OR use red lighting, not both. Disappearing gauges and white light or red lighting and clear plastic over the gauges.
