Where to put the amps?

Post by fuente2000 »

I've got a very elaborate sound system I took out of my show Jeep GC and it includes two JL Audio 500 amps, JL Audio component speakers, and a Clarion touch screen dvd/cd/am/fm receiver. No problem getting the speakers or the Clarion in but where do I stick those amps so they are out of sight??? Doesn't seem to be enough space underneath the seats and those two little cubby holes in back look awful small.Has anybody had this problem and what was your solution? Thanks,Alex

You can try in the spare tire compartment...I put my amp there. But you have 2 amp, so you will have much more plastic cutting to do to fit it....Also, you will have to check if your amp will not overheat and thing about some cooling system just in case.

JL 500/4 or 500/1? I think they're the same case size..I have a JL 500/4 snugly under the driver seat. I could fit one under the passenger, but my Alpine EQ brain is under there...

depending on how far you want to take the install...we're tinkering with plans to do a full false-floor enclosure/amp rack install in his vibe. You'd give up the spare tirewell area, but you'd gain ALL your equipment in the car that could remain in-cog-neet-o b
