Check Engine Light (CEL) codes

Found someone posted a softcopy of the 2004 Matrix manual, and I grabbed the check engine light code lists from there, and posted them at 2004-1ZZ-CELcodes.pdf and 2004-2ZZ-CELcodes.pdf Both are small, about 40 KB, and apply to Vibes as well as Matrix. The codes are the same for 2003 models, except that there are a few new ones for 2004. For example, you won't get a P2441 on a 2003 GT because the 2003 didn't have the smog pump introduced in the '04.(MIL = malfunction indicator light = check engine light = CEL)edit 2/12/08 rehosted and updated urls to pdfs

Could you tell me what the difference is between the 1ZZ and the 2ZZ?Thanks

The 1ZZ engine is the engine that is in base Vibes, and AWD vibes. The Vibe GT gets the 2ZZ engine. Similary, Matrix and Matrix XR FWD and AWD get the 1ZZ, Matrix XRS has the 2ZZ.
