Hi! I'm a newbie and I just wanted to say hi and let you all know I think Genvibe rocks! The forums have so much helpful info and the pics are awesome.I just got my brand-new 04 two-tone Abyss Base Vibe (yeah!) and couldn't be happier with it. I got an awesome deal on it too (with all the GM incentives, $500 below invoice, and my $1200 GM Card rebate).I've already limo tinted it , and I want to put some 17" rims and mud guards on (as soon as the fronts are available ... May-June you say? ... sigh.).I am quite lonely out here in Utah, as I've seen hardly any Vibes out on the road out here. I think it's because in this area Suburbans and minivans are all that folks (w/huge families) drive around here. I did see a monotone fusion the other day (hot!) and a satellite today, but that's about it so far. Are there any other GenVibers here?I have a question: before I took delivery, there was a lot of scratches in various places on the paint (driverside mirror, along the door panels, etc) that the dealer said was from transportation and vehicle prep. They tried to buff them out, but some of them are still noticeable, particularly since it's black paint. I was debating getting a front-end cover/bra, so I got the general manager to give one to me for free in order to make up for the scratches . However, I'v noticed that not many owners have bras on their Vibes. I've heard the pros and cons for bras in general, but wanted to get your "Vibe-inclined" opinions on if I should put it on or not. Is it worse to put the bra on (rubbing, paint fading on the rest of the car, etc) or should I just deal with the inevitable rock chips (of which I've already got some )?Thanks! - Kuro (japanese for "black" )

welcome to genvibe! glad you decided to join. there's another utah vibe owner w/ a s/c 5 spd in ogden. don't know of any other vibes tho. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9765
welcome to genvibeI don't have one on my car. The ones I have seen are black, I wouldn't like the look of it on my silver Vibe, and I haven't had much trouble with paint chips. Your Vibe is black, so it won't be as visible. If you use it, be sure to wax that area well before you put it on, and take it off periodically to clean the area of any accumulated dirt/salt/etc.Don't get wax on the gray plastic cladding, it will dry white and not look good.
