Factory Front End Cover (s)

Post by Stands Alone »

I'm not a happy camper. What they sent, does not, IS not the same as in the picture on the GM accessory site ! The instructions are very vague illustrations. Not pictures, and no text. The biggest "foopa" on this is an outlined area in front that can be cut out for a license plate. It's an option. I wanted the one that was in the picture. The one they sent looks like **** !!!! Where it wraps around & into the wheel wells with some clips, ....is going to rip off the cladding. There is also a snap in this area, and they're included a screw, etc. so the snap will attach. It doesn't look they're any places to put it unless you start drilling. Guess I thought this was a "no drilling" installation. As I sit mumbling to myself, I remember the large sign at the parts counter that states, "No refunds or returns on special order items". Has anyone else out there installed this front (bra) cover? I haven't even gotten to the hood part yet. I'm just plain disgusted for now !

Sorry to hear that. It looks like someone in another thread posted that they installed one. Check out:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... =5521#5521

I sent a not off to Tumbleweed for help, etc. I am strongly entertaining the idea of selling this front cover. Anyone interested ? I paid $86 plus $6.97 tax. $93 bucks and I'll pay the postage !

The snap mounts by removing the existing screw from the cladding, and installing the snap with the longer provided screw. The location is the upper most screw on the front portion of the wheel well. It does take some stretching to get it to fit right.

Hi Tumbleweed,Can you or anyone else here be a little more specific on the installation of the snap-screws provided with the front end cover (bra)? I am trying to install one on my Vibe right now as well and having trouble with this step.I've removed the captive screw and washer-type assembly from the upper-front portion of the driver's side fender. Supplied with the car bra were two moderately long screws with a snap-type head, and two white square plastic doodads with four pegs on the underside. It appears I'm supposed to fit the white plastic things into the hole and then put one of the new screws through it. But I can't make the darn square pegs fit into the round hole in the fender. Am I doing this right? Thanks!
