I was about to srive to class when I had noticed my tire was extremely low. It had looked low the other day so I checked it out and there is a nail in the tire, I couldn't get it out so I took it to firestone. I'm waiting right now. I put on my spare to drive here and when I arrived it was smoking... Did I put it on too tight or what? We'll its going to be done soon still sucks though damn construction
Unless you were driving over 55mph i don't know what else could have caused it.Doughnuts like our spares are only rated to 55mph over that the spare can explode. due to overheating.

You weren't trying to pull multiple 5 g turns with it on, were you?

You could have driven on it to long and to fast. They are a short distance, temperary tire and not ment for speed. It may have been under inflated to... that can happen.

either you lit it on fire, or you were driving too fast/too hard for the tire.

negativo, max speed i went was probably 45mph i was on residential rodes for about 1.5 to 2 miles thats all i drove on the spare. its fixed now but damn 29.00 is alot
The spares are pretty durable.I had mine on for about a week, found myself going 85+ on many occassions......tire is in perfect condition still...maybe it's a defective donut?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Be glad you could get your tire patched, someone ice pick'd my low profile tire on the sidewall, where it's illegal to patch it. I had to buy a completely new tire for $100
I have insurance too, but I bought them through Autolabz, the trip up there isn't worth it, and the shipping the charge is almost as much. I firgured it was worth a few extra dollars to get it the same day rather than wait for mail. It was my choice though, so I can either be happy with it, or blame myself.
