May meeting of Matrix/Vibe Car Club of Florida

Greetings and Salutations to all current and prospective Matrix/Vibe Car Club Members, El Presidente ( aka CaveMan aka Matrix President) and I ( Vibe Presidente, aka El Grande) are planning on doing the first ever meet of the car club in South Florida. The details have not been finalized yet, but we are open to suggestions as to which weekend in May to hold the meet and what you guys would like to do ( he he he this is south florida of course ie great beachs and night clubs! ) A few ideas that i have are to do a BBQ at a park. You know, hot dogs and Burgers, the ussual stuff, plus if your good boys and girls, i can do my Brazillian Style Churasco ( taught to me by my bestfriend from Sao Paolo) Mmmmmm!! But if we do something like this Chris and I will need help covering the cost ( Something to the effect of a $5 donation per person) The Parks that we are looking at are : John Ulyod park in Dania Beach that is large, has tons of parking and is right on the beach. Lots O Fun! There of course is Markham Park by Weston which is big and there is also CB Smith park which is big and has a small water park and a cool artificial beach. Also if there are enough of us RSVP'd for the event another thing we can do is a dealership take over like Mike arranged in Fort Myers. The dealership was really nice to use and we had alot of fun. I think my Pontiac dealership might be willing to do something like that. I don't know if we can do both the BBQ at the Park and a dealer visit. What do you guys think. Post on here and let chris and I know. One more thing, Chris and I plan on inviting the Intense Mazda Performance Car Club and Corolla Car Club of Florida. The members of these clubs are good friends of ours and we consider them sister clubs. PS My sister's, Aunt's, and friends Bday lands on May 17 so i think the weekend of 15-16 will be shot. I'll keep ya posted. Also I have an awesome hook up at Cafe Iguanas @ Beach Place on Fort Lauderdale Beach ( he he he the beach word seems to keep on popping up huh) So if we go clubin that weekend, it a place we can go to. I'm always looking for an excuse to get down to Ft. Lauderdale. Is this club open to 30 year old button-down men who haven't made any modifications to their Vibe (except for a couple of window stickers) since they drove it off the lot?I'm the least hip guy in Florida, but I love my car.

Welcome to Genvibe man, and don't worry, there's some redneck-ish people here in Northern FL that I'm sure are way less Hip than you. You have a Vibe for one thing, so you start off with extra hip points 65F in the shade (And I'm not even in southern Florida)

Weather Bug says it's 78F outside, humidity at 26% It's a beautiful day to go to the beach and tan! Unfortunately i'm stuck in at work under flickering flourescent lights. not fair! BTW Fialchar, Yes you may come if your not a car club member, but if your interested in joining, that would be coolismo. But it's not manadtory, the whole point of the meet is for matrix and vibe enthusiast to get together and talk and hang out!Also, we accept mild to wild, stock to totally modified. I think it's always cool to see some of the mods other people have done, share ideas and knowledge and possibly help out other people with vibes and trixs as well!. JUST A SUGGESTION[url] http://thecentroybor.com 1600 East 8th Avenue Mapquest: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/m...y=176 All info was based on May 29 and June 5 I was checking out Florida's Hot Spots and came across Ybor City (located in Tampa). Two reasons I was sorta looking around the Tampa area is because (1) it is somewhat centrally located in between Daytona and Ft. Lauderdale and (2) we haven't had a meet near Tampa for the Tampa people. Plus, with Tampa being 2 1/2 hrs away from where most people live the drive back home won't be that bad; so the cost of a hotel could be thrown out. Now most of the clubs that are around that area are 18 and up. The night life is top-notch. The Tampa Improv (comedy club also 18 +) is located in the Ybor Centre where all the action happens. They also have a huge parking garage. I also checked on prices: Dinners $8.00 - $18.00, Tampa Improv $15.00 - $25.00, and Parking $10 for the day, and Hotels $75 - $135. If everybody did agree on doing this event and we got a definite head count, I would be able to call ahead and get a group discount if we had a turn out like last time (Cape Coral Meet - Jan 31st).
