I don't think anyone has asked or talked about this in awhile (correct me if I'm wrong, which is often)Has anyone heard anything about aftermarket cams for our cars or any 2zz application?? I know I've heard that TRD has a set in the works, (Big Maybe...rumor stuff)and I thought I heard something about monkey wrench developing a set...I would rather go all motor (rather than a turbo etc.) Just curious if anyone’s heard anything new???
http://www.pipercams.co.uk/New....html. Click toyota and you'll see vvtli under developement. It's a British company thats getting ready for the new Lotus Elise.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
I admit that I am "old school" where slapin in a cam, intake, carb and headers would make a stock engine come to life, but I didn't think an aftermarket cam would make that much of a difference when the engine is designed with variable valve timing and lift right from the factory. Best of both worlds...lots of power and it still idles smooth. Already getting 180 something horses from a little 1800cc motor.
Base Two Tone Satellite, Auto, & Pwr Pkg....my current commuting car.
Agreed. About the only thing you could do is make the lower cam more agressive which would be great for racing but not much fun for the street.

I had about the same train of thought, if we could increase the lower cam, and slightly increase the upper one we could stand to gian a lot of performace. The 2zz engine isn't lacking in tons of Hp (it could be more) but it is lacking a ton in low end Tq. When increaseing the lower cam would even out the power band, instead of haveing all the power at the end.

He didn't give me a ton of details which I don't blame him since the lack of test and its not out yet. Theres no price yet either. He said he might make it to the Michigan meet again this year but he wasn't sure.
