My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
Yes, ugly is the word. Almost reminds me of that Geo Storm hatchback they used to sell.I thought I remembered reading in either Automotive News or NADA News that BMW has decided not to bring the 1 series to the US. Can anybody verify this? (UPDATE: I guess if I read the story, it would have said that also!)
Interesting ...I think that thing is hotter than hot. It's just freaking amazingly a good looking car. I want one.I also loved the M3 Coupe though, so you know how I stand on that.I wonder if it comes in a sport automatic ... ... ...
Yeah, they are seriously re-evaluating whether or not the one series would make a valid business case in the US. I read something about only being available with four cylinders. If they can shoehorn a 6 under the hood they will bring it, so it will be a long time if ever before it arrives. As it's powered right now I think my base Vibe could easily out run it.It's a shame BMW's have gotten so (removed) ugly. With the emphasis on the (removed).
I am not impressed at all. I wouldn't really say its "ugly" as much as "boring." If it comes with a four cylinder, there won't be much substance to it underneath that skin either. If they sell it here like that, they will be able to move a decent number of them to brand snobs who absolutely must have a BMW, but I do not see it pulling most people away from other makes.

Should be able to shoehorn a V-12 under there! The elongated hood really throws the car visually off balance I think. It also looks a bit squashed in height as well. From BMW, I would expect more.I used to really like the BMW lineup, but now with the "shark-nose" looking grilles they are putting on all the new cars, I think if I had the cash, I'd pass. Shame is that the Mercedes lineup isn't looking that much better, either.

i love beamers! i wanted one forever but then just don't see spending that much money on them... plus, i'm not so impressed w/ their new designs. but if someone offered to trade my vibe for one, at no additional cost, i'd do it!
I asked my dealer if he'd do an even swap Vibe for a GTO. He looked at me as if I was on crack.I think it's safe to say that was a no. Anyway, the pic in the article in the first post kinda says Mazda 3 to me...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
